Advantages: just fantastic

Disadvantages: over to quick

I had been to the Doctor on a number of times because i had been suffering from neck and shoulder tension as well as headaches.I had tried various relaxation methods but none seemed to help me out so the Doctor said to me did i fancy trying Acupuncture,so as i had tried everything else i said yes.

So an appointment arrived for a local clinic so i went along just to see if this would help.On arriving i noticed a few other people waiting.I was taken by a young guy in his late twenties who proceeded to ask me questions about my life and where my pains where starting.

After all the questions i was told to strip to my boxers and lie on a couch, also relaxing music was piping through speakers which i found relaxing. Then the big moment came, the needles,he inserted a needle into my hand just between my thumb and finger, this was done on both hands and then i was told to lie back and relax and concentrate on the needles.I was a bit of a sceptic but it was just great,it made me feel like i was floating and after i got up i felt so relaxed.

I continued the treatment for a few months, each time he increased the number of needles and put them in diferent points in my body, explaining to me how these points related to different ailments. It was very good and it did help a lot but you have to keep going back and unfortunately my employer was not overly keen on me going every other week, but i would say to anyone whos thinking of trying it to go ahead it will definitely help you.

I had acupuncture about 11 years after fracturing my spine in a car crash. I occasionally suffer from pains and my doctor recommended it. I'm scared of needles but gave it a go and it was fantastic! Hardly hurt at all, no more than pricking you finger when sewing!
