Advantages: sort of works
Disadvantages: not that much volume
I have had moderate success with the V05 range, there is one I quite like which is the smooth and shine one, which delivers pleasing results for my dry hair. I am always searching for new shampoos and this is another success in the V05 range. The shampoo claims to moisturise dry or damaged hair.
As a sunlover (I know, very naughty of me) and a hair colourer, I need shampoos which deliver moisture and look after those nasty dry spilt ends. Sun has been an enemy of my hair this season, it took a real blast during the summer which left it quite brittle.
Packaging:
It looks like most of the other V05 bottles, a plastic bottle with a flip top lid. It stands up well in the bath and the shampoo is easy to dispense.
Smell:
The thing with the VO5 range is that they don't smell that amazing. Go to Lush for amazing smelling shampoos. While this is not clinical,, it lacks anything exciting about it. A fruitier kick is needed I feel to give it some lift.
The Test:
I always use a small dollop of shampoo, working through from root to tip. I usually complete my regime with a conditioner, though sometimes I will just shampoo if I am not going anywhere special. This works up into a lather well, as do most of the VO5 shampoos. It rinses out quickly without residue and also does not leave a sticky film around the edge of the bath.
Results:
Following my blowdry, I was pleased with the results. It had left hair managable and while it was not bursting with moisture, it felt revived and light with feeling heavy, which some mositure shampoos can do. It would suffice as a day to day shampoo, though for volume I still prefer the Pantene range. I still say, if you want moisture in your hair, you must drink plenty of water, as this will help plump the hair fibres. A diet in rich protein foods and oily fish will also assist.
It is about two quid a bottle, sometimes even less if it's part of an offer and is recommended for those on a shampoo budget.
Summary: not bad
