Advantages: lasts for days, effective

Disadvantages: not a nice smell

After seeing the film Something about Mary, using hair gel seems to have a different meaning for me now.
I have used Alberto V05 for quite a long time now and couldn't manage to do my hair without it.
Anyone who hasn't seen the film mentioned above won't know what I'm talking about.

To cut a long story short, a lad is going on a date with Mary and before he goes out he has a little play with Percy Penis and ends up losing his sperm.
Later when he knocks on Marys door, she opens it and says "Oh great hair gel", and picks it out of his hair and applies it to her own.
Yuk, you now know where the sperm went.

Now after towel drying my hair, I leave it slightly damp and apply a small blob of sperm( I mean hair gel) to my hair.
Oh god I feel sick talking about it.
I have to use it as I have no hairstyle without it, my hair goes all limp.
The smell of it is a bit overpowering, I've smelt better.
I like the consistency of this gel, it isn't too thin or too thick, just right.
It is a little sticky in your hands, but then again I think all hair gel is.
Nothing a bit of soap and water won't shift though.

The styling gel is Mega Hold which I need for my thin hair, it really does help to create thickness to my hair.
One tip I got from a hairdresser was to apply hair gel or Mousse to dry hair as if it's still wet it dilutes it down and therefore it's not as effective.
I didn't find this to be any good when I tried it, I dried my hair then when I applied the gel, my hair went like straw.
I do find it better to apply to towel dried hair.
Try not to leave it sopping wet, just towel dry the ends and dab the roots. My hair doesn't feel like straw afterwards, just soft but a little extra lift to it.

For maximum effect, I blow dry my hair with my hair upside down, or scrunch dry it, that's how I get the Rod Stewart look, I
love spikey, fluffy hair.
The gel keeps my hair in place for days, I only wash my hair twice a week as I think washing it too often strips the natural oils out of your hair.

The gel comes in a blue tube and is a 150 ml size, it lasts me months.
I think it only cost me 99p at the time on a special offer. Normally I think it's about £1.79.
There is a screw off lid, which I prefer to a flip up lid as sometimes the flip up ones get clogged up quicker for some reason.

I recommend this product and will continue to use it as long as I don't see a repeat of Something about Mary lol.
