The Alexander Technique aims to teach people to use themselves , their bodies and their minds to make their every day lives better. Everyone I know of who's tried Alexander Technique (I'll call it AT for short) swears by it. It's de rigeur for those training to be actors or singers, sportspeople practise it too, but I believe it would benefit everyone. If FM Alexander, the discoverer of AT, had been a different kind of man, AT would probably be part of the standard health maintenance regime by now, as much as regular exercise and eating sensibly. i read a book on this and its about re-learning about your posture.we have over the years put undue stess on our bodies and we need to learn how not to be lazy.i only usede the breathing exercises for pregnacy and they really do work.if you concentated on the breathing you forget about the contrations,you can handle the pain and above all i felt in control.i didnt do them with 1st and i paniced but with 2nd i did the breathing all the way and in the end with gas and air and i felt in control of the whole thing.so even if you dont want to improve your posture,you can use the breathing for labour,and general relaxing its a good read if you want to put an end to the ...
