Great support for charity sponsorship events (Alzheimer's Society)

Not entirely sure how I can review a charity, but I'll talk about my experiences with them when I ran the Great North Run for them last year.

I decided to run the Great North Run and book a place on a charity team. I chose the Alzheimer's Society as my gran suffered from the condition, and ever since, it's been my charity of choice. I registered a place with them and had to raise £500, which was fair enough.

I was sent all the relevant paperwork for the race, sponsorship information and forms and tips for trainign etc. I also recieved regular email updates and encouragement each month running up to the big day, as well as a choice of t-shirt or running vest.

On the day, there were regular stops along the race where members would cheer you on from the sidelines and at the end, they had their own tent in the charity 'village' which was giving away no end of much needed food and drink, which was very welcome. They also had a photographer on hand taking photos which were made available to us all via filesharing website (one of me even made it onto their website!).

All in all, the Alzheimer's Society offered me great support and encouragement and took care of me after the race. I had such a great tiem that I've signed up with them this year for the Robin Hood Marathon. Yikes!
