Advantages: Good price
Disadvantages: None
I don't really try fancy hair products too often because most of the time I think it's a waste of time but I recently had my hair bleached blond, subtle but lovely and the hairdresser said because of the bleach I should probably do a heat treatment on my hair at some point.
As I didn't want to spend much money on it so it took me a while to find one that I liked but eventually I found the Advanced Techniques range from Avon.
We all know Avon, the catalogue beauty company that you can now also buy over the internet. I actually used to sell Avon when I was younger and have always liked their products. They seem to be good quality, not top notch but then the price outweighs this as there are such bargains to be had.
The Advanced Techniques is one of their ranges and it includes a variety of products such as shampoo's conditioners, hairbrushes etc, in fact everything to do with hair etc. I had heard quite good things about it so I decided to give one of their products a try. Also, in this month's brochure all Advanced Techniques products were buy one; choose one for £1 so as I was looking for a brush as well I decided to go for two products.
The heat treatment I bought was the Colour Hit (Heat Infusion Treatment). One packet was priced at £4.50 and it includes three little bottles of treatment. You only use one bottle each time so this gave my three treatments for a very good price I thought. Each little bottle contains 15 ml and is especially tailored to coloured hair.
The heat treatment is said to infuse deep penetrating conditioners leaving your hair smooth, healthy and vibrant.
It was very easy to use the product. Basically there is a little thin point at the top of the bottle and you break open the cap in order to pour the treatment on your hair. It is very precise in its precision as the applicator is thin and gets to all the right places. The treatment was a liquid, not completely thin like water; it had a bit of thickness to it but was basically a liquid. Once the treatment comes out of the bottle it warms on contact (which was quite an interesting sensation). You then apply the liquid to your roots and work through to the ends (this is after you have shampooed and conditioned your hair as normal). It then directs you to leave it in for three minutes and then rinse it out.
So, how did my hair feel afterwards? Well, maybe I was looking for a miracle product that would leave my hair feeling incredibly soft but it was not as soft as I thought it would be. My hair has got a bit of a shine too it but it seems a bit fly away and breakable at the moment. However, it does not feel like I have any build-up on my hair, it definitely all washed out. I think more than likely this treatment is making my hair stronger from the inside and protecting it from damage from dying it.
I will definitely try the other bottles and then would probably buy this again as I think if I keep using it, it will give my strong, healthy hair in the long run.

- 04/10/08 I've decided not to rate this since technically, I'd have to rate it Not Useful. Firstly, the category is on Avon Advance Techniques in general and you've only written about one of these techniques. Secondly, the category has been archived, meaning that DooYoo either have a newer place for these reviews or that DooYoo decided to delete these. So, I'm asking DooYoo to move this review to another place instead, that might be more appropriate. |
