Advantages: REASONABLE VALUE, GOOD QUALITY ON THE WHOLE
Disadvantages: SOME PRODUCTS ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS, SOME DON'T WORK!
The Advance Techniques range from Avon cosmetics contains various products, from hairbrushes and brushes, to shampoos, conditioners and hair styling products.
I have not tried every product from the range, but have bought several shampoos, styling products, brushes and treatments over a period of approximately four years and on the whole, would say that they are good quality products, although I think depending on your hair type, you may struggle to find that ideal product (according to various feedback from several of my avon customers.)
The dry ends serum, for example, is one of the Advance teqhnique products that seems to be very popular, and I have yet to find a customer who thinks it works, or is satisfied with the end result. Most of the feedback is that this products makes your hair very greasy and unmanagable, and usually results in having to wash the hair after applying it, as it is so dirty looking after using it! I have to admit that after trying this product for myself, I found this to be the case for my own hair too.
On the other hand, the hairbrushes are fantastic quality and value, with Avon often including them in deals like 3 for £10 which is great value when you consider that some of the brushes from the range cost £6 or £7 each. Again, I have used these brushes myself, in particular the detangling comb and the paddle brush are my favourites. (comb is around £3 and paddle brush is around £7... Compared to prices on the high street, the paddle brush is average priced.)
The shampoos and conditioners on the whole, are very popular, with the colour protection conditioner (around £2.50 for 250ml) and the volume and texture shampoo (same price) being some of the products that are most popular with my client base. That said, i've used the colour protection conditioner myself and was rather unimpressed. I use a different brand that is cheaper, and tends to stop my colour fading better than this Avon one.
I think with a little trial and error, there is something from the Advance techniques range to suit everyone, and all hair types, but I think you need to be patient when trying out some of the products as some of them have certainly been a hit or a miss with not just myself, but my customers.
The special offers that Avon has on this range from time to time makes them very affordable and it's worth stocking up on your favourite products at these times (assuming that you can find something that suits you, that is!).
Summary: Good offers but only if you can find products that suit you! (Sounds easier than it is)
