I was born with arthrogyposis multiplex congetia, and at age of 11 I started going to Shriners hospital in St Louis, Missouri. December 1969 I checked in, my mom went back home to Tulsa Oklahoma the same day. I was on warb B in a room of five other girls. They were five rooms on the ward. There was a girl there who had a halo ... Read the complete review

I was privileged to be the first osteopath in the world to use power assisted micro-manipulation. This lady's comments reflect many patients about the way the spine can be changed and made more supple. Readers might like to log on to the patient website www.pamspeople.org This treatment is not in expensive in real terms as I have got ... Read the complete review

Now this is something I've been wrestling with for a while. How to write about something that was the biggest part of my life for five long years. That's how long it took me to come to terms with my condition, Chronic Disc Generation Disease, and its most terrible symptom: unable to sit up or walk for eighteen months... learning to walk ... This is the first opinion I've written after a break of over two weeks. I haven't been able to read or write for Dooyoo for all this time because I've been suffering (and I do mean SUFFERING!) with a back injury, the exact nature of which seems to have flummoxed both the medical establishment and the alternative practitioner I've ... Back pain is one of those medical misfortunes that is either not taken too seriously or is regarded as a bit of a joke (much like haemorrhoids or gout.) Probably this is because a “bad back” is often used as a good excuse by malingers to get a sick note from their doctor. But if you suffer or have suffered from genuine back pain, you ... As always I have split the opinion into sections for easy of reading! (Well so you can skip the bits that don’t interest you. The first bit is my experience of doctors and back pain, the interesting bit is at the bottom, titled. The solutions) My predicament. When I was a stupid teenager we used to do stupid things, one of these ... Read the complete review

Back pain is all too often misunderstood and underestimated. Non sufferers can believe that it can't possibly be as bad as made out to be. I had always put it down to people moaning too loudly about a minor ailment. Mocking is, they say, catchting. I found this out the hard way. We have a family friend who has always ... OK, perhaps that’s taking it just a little bit too far – but not a lot! One Doctor explained to me that I was before my time. Man has evolved from animals who walked on four legs, and his back has not yet completely adapted to the change from four legs to two. In a few million years the evolution will be complete and back pain will ... Read the complete review

Whatever you do, that’s my advice as it caused me no end of pain. A simple task like hoovering round which so many of us (mainly girls) do caused me to end up bedridden and in unimaginable pain for days and days. So my advice is DON’T DO IT! Lets start at the beginning it was 4.00 one afternoon and l was performing the ... Read the complete review

I have had problems with a slipped disc for many years. It slips out, I am in agony, my GP prescribes painkillers, they don't work. The pain going off eventually, I carry on as though everything was normal and, hey presto, the disc slips out, and so on. It is so hard to get treatment or painkillers for back trouble that really work. ... Read the complete review

How many times have you or I said that. I've lost track of how many times i've said it and eventually I decided I had to do something about it, something more than I had already done that is. I was involved in a car accident almost 4 years ago and received a back injury, not a normal back injury "apparently", or ... Read the complete review

When my son was young, we had no central heating (Wow, am I that old?) So when bath time came round, we used to bathe him in front of the fire in the front room, being the only warm place in the house! One day at such a time as I mentioned, he'd finished the bath, and I bent down to lift the plastic bath from it's stand! 'Ouch!' my back ... Read the complete review

Lots of us do , we really do! MorganaDQ has written an excellent opinion on back pain & how it is treated with derision & disbelief by most people – that is until they fall victim. I do not want to go over the same ground but so many turn to alternative treatments it might be useful to relate my experiences. I ... Read the complete review

Backache. It's a very shady area isn't it? How many people reading this, I wonder, have pulled the line "I can't come in to work today, I have a bad back"? I know I've often been tempted. We've all pulled a sickie at work or school (remember skiving off?), and there's no denying the fact that it happens every ... Read the complete review
