Advantages: range of colour, staying power, cheap(ish)

Disadvantages: not very good for the condition of your nails

Barry M nail varnish is my absolute favourite. I have a great love of matte nail varnish. Despite the fact that all the glittery, shimmery, pearly and colour-changing pots do bring out the magpie in me, i always find that matte nail varnish often looks better on me, it makes your nails look longer and I like the clean and sinple look about it. In this age of advanced cosmetic technology it is often difficuly to find nail varnishes that do not have some kind of 'special effects' but Barry M do a few chades that are pure colour with none of this pearlescent nonsense!

My favourite shades are the light blue and white (Apart from Barry M i have been unable to find a pure white nail varnish apart from those in french manicure sets which often seem to have an odd consistency and require about 2000 layers before they are completely opaque).

Another advantage is that it stays on forever. Well, considering the amount i use my hands, typing, washing up etc., I usually average out at two days before my nail varnish is chipped beyond belief. I think my record with Barry M has been five days or more. It actually started to look nicotine stained before it had even begun to chip!

I would reccomend it to anyone, especially fellow lovers of pure coloured nail varnishes, although they do seem to do some nice sparkly ones as well.

I must admit however, that it does not seem to be very good for the condition of your nails, and without a base coat it can discolour them quite a lot. Also, perhaps due to its staying power, if you have a habit of peeling nail varnish off when it starts to chip (like me!) you might find that it takes a few layers of your nail with it!
