As has been mentioned propolis is an analgesic and I use it in a ticture made with alcohol to soothe sore throats. I find that a drop or two of propolis can see of a sore throat in no time and I know that it is done entirely naturally. Propolis is so versatile and is available in so many forms, I have sold some in the past to a violin maker who uses it in the coating of the wood. If you get a chance buy s...more

As a beekeeper I am constantly amazed by just how versatile this wonderful substance is. Bees collect propolis form chestnut trees and use it as an airtight glue to seal their living spaces. As a beekeeper it is propolis that keeps the sections of hive together and means I need a hive tool to prise them apart. I frequently scrape propolis off for my own personal use. The best cream for dry skin yet!. I had very dry skin. Mostly on my elbows and nees. This cream has worked wonders for my skin. You don't need alot, just a small amount on the area each day. I've had my tube for three months and it's still half full. I would tell anyone who has a skin problem to try this!. Propolis comes from the bee hiv. it is a natural antibiotic, which I think is better than the stuff the doctors give you theses days. so thumbs up to this cream!. ...  Read the complete review

An excellent product made by bees when making their honey. It is great for building up the immune system so that you are not as susceptible to colds. Ever see a sneezing bee? You can buy it from health stores, or in lozenges sometimes with added zinc another cold preventative or if you happen to know anyone who keeps bees they may be able to give you some and it is especially delicious as it will still have some of the honey with it. Like the song- a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down. It is usually relatively inexpensive. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review propolis, help from bees (119 words)

Rating:

Propolis is a natural antibiotic produced by bees, but like many natural remedies was forgotton about until about 20 years ago. Bees use it to seal the hive to make one of the most sterile environments known to man. Medical research has now been undertaken to see exactly what healing powers propolis has, and the main advantage is that bacteria cannot grow on it. Doctors are now using it to treat blood disorders, gastro-intestinal problems and breathing difficulties. However Propolis is most commonly used for dermatological disorders, it has proved very effective in treating acne and allergies such as excema. The main attraction of propolis is that it is entirely natural ...  Read the complete review
