... Wortzel Gummage emerge from behind the curtain. With his only form of communication was to grunt. Well, if you actually go through with your mutilation by this man then i'd have to say you'd be quite dumb! When you get the body adornment you should make sure the professional knows exactly what you want, and make sure you know whats gonna happen, like if theres gonna be a lot of blood or when your gonna hear that huge crunch of your cartilidge( it does happen). Ask the professional how to look after your pie...more

Premium Review Body Art in general: I dont get what the problem is! (1425 words)

I cant say that im either a piercing or a tatoo expert, mainly because: (a) Ive never had a tatoo! (b) Ive only got my ear's pierced! However, what I dont understand is just why some, if not most, people thing tatooing and piercing is "yuck" or "disgusting" along with lines such as "you'll regret it when you're older"! Ive got nothing against either tatooing or piercing in the slightest. Infact, as with most things, in moderation I think they can all look nice. Like I said, ive only got my ears pierced (and even that is only in the "tradition" lobe area!). However id love to get ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Do the fresh ones wriggle? (604 words)

Ugh, the whole idea of body piercing makes me shudder! I don't have strong rational arguments against it, because I know the effects of body piercing are reversible, ie the skin will grow together again if you take the body jewelry out. However, the whole idea of body piercing makes me feel completely squeamish, and it is why I don’t even have my ears pierced. I have a very strong emotional, irrational, argument which I will share with you. I have a horrible vision of a glass dish full of little “sausages” of flesh which have been punched out of people. The fresh ones even wriggle, a bit like newly dead worms. There are little fleshy ...  Read the complete review

I think that body piercing and tatooing are a good form of self expression. As long as you think of what your doing before hand. Obviously you don't wanna have a spur of the moment kind of tattoo, that was supposed to look like a dainty butterfly, but looks like a map of china on your ass forever, so make sure you know what you want and go to a reputable tattooist/piercer.Try and get other peoples opinions before and ask lots of questions when you book it so that you can make a more informed decision. You see all these films of scared looking teens going into the tattoo parlour only to see a huge man resembling Wortzel Gummage emerge from behind the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Where next? (513 words)

Personally I don't have that many piercings. I have my ears pierced lots (I stopped when someone said that your cartilage slips and you can get cauliflower ears - I think it is true cos my cartilage piercings seem to move!). I also have my belly button pierced. I would have had my nose pierced, but it draws enough attention to itself cos it is big! The problem is now I am stuck. I don't want to get any piercings in "other" places. I had a friend who was in hospital for quite a while after she had her nipple pierced and it wouldn't stop bleeding. As for getting any more facial piercings, I'd love to get my tongue done. I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Body Art in general: Painted skin (267 words)

I am a big fan of skin painting, which has a range of advantages over other skin arts. Painting on your skin is not permenante, so you can do something outrageous sfae in the knoweldge that tomorrow it will get washed off. Its easy and quite cheap to get materials. Theatrical shops sell theatrical paints, thes are the best to use and you can get a good set for about twenty pounds. They are water soluble, you will need a small paint brush, and that's it. I've found that, if given about an hour to dry, most paints will stay on the skin well. While they are drying, you have to be very careful to avoid smudges and water. They wash off with soap and ...  Read the complete review
