Advantages: Having something that means someting to you and enjoying its appearance

Disadvantages: Don't be hasty as it's there for life, or costs a lot to get it removed

Ok so I got my first tattoo when I was 19. My partner had a couple and I wanted to get one that would kind of connect us together. He had his starsign on his upper arm, so I designed my starsign and got that on my lower back which I'm still pleased with today. I don't remember it hurting. Though I wouldn't go back to the same tatooist as I think there are much better and cheaper places as I feel he rushed it.

Always be sure of what you want and check out tattoo places before you committ, always shop around and get recomendations from people you trust. Make sure everything they are using is sterile.

Since then me and my partner, now Fiance are still together and have two Daughters and we have had more tattoos.

We went to a great tattooist in Leighton Buzzard called Rising Pheonix. My Fiance Craig went on his own before me about 3 years ago. He was very happy, he got our first Daughters hand print and name on one side of his chest. Then we had another Daughter 18 months ago and he again went on his own and got her hand print and name on the other side of his chest which looks really good. So a couple of months after I'd had my last Daughter I booked an appointment with my Cousin. We both wanted tattoos on our feet. My Cousin went first and was nearly in tears as it hurt her so much. When it was my turn I felt relaxed which helped and didn't find it hurt too much and I'm really pleased with the job he did...and he was pleased with it as he took a photo and it's on their website. Then I wanted my girls names on the back of my neck which didn't hurt at all and I'm really happy with that too.

The Rising Pheonix is a lovely place, not scary and dark, but bright and friendly. Their work is really good.

However I'd love to go to Miami Ink and get a tattoo done there, that would be amazing!

Summary: Tattoos are great if that's what you're into
