Disadvantages: Expensive to remove, and discrimination

Having a tattoo is the in thing at the moment, trendy , fashionable I know, but take it from someone who has tattoo's its not all it's cracked up to be.

As certain types of clothing go out of fashion so will tattoo's, but once you've got them you can't trade them in for the lastest craze, your stuck with them for ever.

I had my first tattoo at the age of 17, I thought it was great so I had another one, and another, and another , i'm not covered in them but I do have a few.

Now 17 years on from my mad bout of body art, the colours have all faded bar a couple, and in some cases there is no colour at all, just the outline is left.

Although they look nice in some cases, they stop you from doing things, you are discriminated because of them, regardless of who you are. They present a negative image , not three weeks ago I was working in London and went to a nice pub for an evening meal, the pub was empty, not a person in sight, the doormen turned me away because I had a tattoo showing on my arm, how pathetic is that!!!!!!!!
The pub in question was in Tunbridge Wells, three times I was allowed in , three times I was asked to leave when I took my jacket off.

Another instance is whenever I come home from holiday I get stopped by customs and excise and have to have my suitcases searched, it's not right and it's not fair, I am not a thug, I just like my tattoo's , but with hindsight knowing what I do now I would never have had any of them done.

The total cost of my tattoo's was a measly 150.00, I had a quote to get them removed and r u ready for this!!!! 10.000 pounds and 6 months to 2 years for the treatment to be complete, as only 1 square centimeter on each tattoo can be done every 3 months.

So after reading this, if your still pondering about having a tattoo, make sure you get the right one and have it where a t-shirt can cover it up.
