Advantages: Gel is easy to work with, a little goes a long way.

Disadvantages: Can stain clothes.

I received a bottle of Boots Moisturising Dry Skin Oil Gel from the Boots 'Baby Sensitive Range' as a present just after my son was born. I did not use it until recently when my son developed dry skin all over his body.

The gel is very easy to work with and minimises the mess usually associated with the use of Baby Oil. It can be used for baby massage, and is especially good for using just after a bath. I noticed a dramatic difference in the state of my son's skin after just one application.

It is hypoallergenic, fragrance free and clinically tested, threfore it is ideal for problem or sensitive skins.

I was so impressed with the gel that I have started to use it on myself.

At £3.29 it is more expensive than some baby moisturisers, but a little goes a long way and the bottle seems everlasting!

The only problem is that it can stain clothes, therefore it is best to wear your robe when applying it to the baby.
