hit for most creams and lotions... miss for their cosmetics (Boots No.7 in general)

I guess it's either hit or miss with pretty much all Boots No7 stuff. I've only been using them for the past 2 years, when I first heard of their protect and perfect beauty serum that so many people were raving about. At the time, they only used to produce a limited amount and women were practically willing to get into a fight just to get their hands on these. I got mine online because every time I went into the shop, they'd always be out of stock and not getting any new ones in for about 8 days. When you were able to get one online, you could only buy one per customer as well.

So anyway, that was the first ever time I'd actually bothered with this brand. I've seen this brand at boots for years but simply didn't bother as the packaging wasn't very attractive and it all looked pretty boring stuff to me. I'd occasionally dip my finger into the make up testers and wouldn't be too impressed with what I saw. The shadows were quite bland, not pigmented enough and the lipsticks were just plain boring and ordinary. Even now, I'm still not impressed enough to buy any of their make up, I have been given loads of samples and even full size lipstick, gloss and eye shadows as part of gifts I got for buying the protect and perfect stuff and they're just not worth it to me. I like my make up pigmented, original and bold. That's why my favourite brands are MAC and Urban Decay.

I've only ever bought one mascara from number 7 and was very, very disappointed. Had it not been for the free gift that came with it, it would have been a complete waste of £11.50. I don't know why they charge so much as their make up is pretty tame and no where near as good quality as the top brands.

So in conclusion, I'm pleased with many of the beauty products like face and eye creams, serums, sun lotions and fake tan. I'm not a fan of their make up and since they can't compete with my favourite brands, they might consider lowering those prices.

Summary: protect and perfect is the best thing to come from this brand
