The reason i have titled my review 'Contrasting Products' is because i have mixed views on the caboodles range. I have had good and bad experiences, i have bought lipglosses and lipstick, i am going to review the lipgloss here, so if you want to read about the lipstick, its under the specific 'Caboodles Lipstick' Product with the other reviews. Well firstly there are a lot of things i like about Caboodles. I love the name, its really cute and just rolls of the tounge and its a nice name, so i think thats what atracts a lot of people to the brand, until they see the products. Like a lot of people i know have commented that the items are so cute, using lots of colour and they look pretty. Well anyway i also like the price, these 3 things combined helped me in the desicion to buy a caboodles lipgloss. The one i saw was pink with little red balls floating around in it, i thought it was so adorable and when i saw the price, i thought it wouldn't do much damage to buy it. i didnt notice that it smelt particullary nice, as some people have, but that didnt really make much difference. I used the lipgloss for a few days, before i couldn't stand it anymore. The first time i noticed it was really thick and stayed like that. It stuck to everything and is more like glue, as it is hard to remove off clothes and things, without going in the wash. Also my hair used to blow into and with other lipglosses it would just wipe out, but this one just matted up and it was terrible. When i wore this lipgloss i usually ended getting fed up and wiping it of (if i could) Also the worst thing, is that it LEAKS. I have carried it around in my bag, to find it has leaked onto my purse and other items, and like i said before, its quite hard to remove. This was very annoying, I have to place it very specifically in my make up box, with the lid upwards, but with the toothpaste style shape, its hard to balance. Even then it kind of runs dow
n the edge sometimes, and believe me i have tried putting the lid on properly, and its as tight as it will go. So i can never take this lipgloss out and about with me and to be very honest i dont know if id really want to. It doesnt exactly do mcuh for your looks, i think it makes me look more like a toddler whos got a sticky lolipop all around there mouth. Well i've taken the lipgloss and thrown it in the bin now, i just cant take the annoyingness of it ( i don't know if thats a real word) Even thought it was hardly even used. So it was basically a waste of money and something i would not recommend or buy again.

I'm the type of person that always buys make-up that has a name. I guess you could say I am a 'designer whore'. Yup that's me. But there is another side to this make up fanatic. I love cute packaging. If there is a superb product but it has vile packaging, I will not buy it. I love putting fancy packaged make up on my dresser so I have started a collection. I first noticed the very oddly named make-up company Caboodles when a friend who visited America brought back loads of make up by this company. It was such girlie stuff and I knew I had to get some for myself. The name was quite strange to begin with but then after a while it just began to sound like a fun name. I wasn't sure where to get this name from so I did a search on the internet and not many sites sold it, actually none sold it, I only managed to find articles on the brand. There is an official Caboodles site but unfortunately it's under construction and has been for quite some time. One day I was out shopping and decided to pop into Superdrug to get some cleansers and things when I noticed a Caboodles stand. Not in an orderly fashion I legged it to the stand. It was a very colourful stand, just like the actual makeup. I know this will sound odd but I was just so excited when I spotted it, I thought finally I can buy it whenever I want. I couldn't actually decide where to look first as I was that excited. FRUITOPIAN LIP GLOSS~~ The reason I wanted to get this makeup so badly was because of the smell of the lip-glosses. The smell was just lush, they had so many different scents from Strawberry to Apple. I purchased the flavour Strawberry Cream, which is apart of the Fruitopian range. They also had lots of types of lip-glosses, from plain flavoured ones to coloured scented ones. These lip-glosses come in a dinky little tube. The tube is quite fashionable and is made out of plastic. The tube also contains these little circular round things which I have no idea
how to describe. There just round things stuck in the actual sticky gloss to make the tube look pretty. It is a much better applicator, I mean I hated gloss pots, they're just so messy, and this is quite neat! It is quite small but has a lot of gloss in it. The gloss is quite sticky and thick and the texture can be quite irritating at first and yes girls it is the type of lip gloss that hair sticks to but like me learn how to control your hair! The gloss also comes in a lovely colour which almost always matches the colour of the flavour it's based on. It's still clear but with a tinge of a different colour. The gloss looks great over a lipstick, I always use the clear lip-gloss over my lipstick 'Goth' which as you can guess is really dark. It adds a shine to my lips, which I love! Honestly when my lip gloss runs out I run to Superdrug to try out another flavour! I have to be honest that the actual lip gloss lasts for so long it's unbelievable. I now have a whole range of flavours to choose from. The flavours that are available are: Blueberry Blast, Bubble Gum, Candy Cane, Creamsicle, Grape Vine, Melon Magic, Orange U Lucky, Peaches and Cream, Sassy Berry, Strawberry Creme, Tutti Frutti and Vanilla Volts. See the selection of yummy flavours. LIP BALM~~ There were quite a few flavours of lip balm but I found the shape of the pot quite irritating. It was shaped as a flower, very pretty but quite annoying! Well the flavours were very nice but the one that caught my attention was Cotton Candy! Since I'm the candyfloss queen that was a must! It smelt lovely and it was a pink colour although clear on lips. It was in a cute pot but I didn't realise it was quite messy until I got home, still take it everywhere though! Candyfloss queen needs it! I think I would recommend this product to people who love cute little packaging but for those of you who want it for practical reasons I would steer clear. It is very difficult to ge
t some out and if you have long nails like me then don't even think about getting this! The flavours available are: Apple, Berry, Bubblegum, Chocolate, Cotton Candy, Grape, Strawberry and Vanilla. LIP SUNDAE METALLIC LIPGLOSS~~ This is a nifty little product. I bought the colour 'Raspberry Freeze'. It's a silver/purple kind of colour and is really cool. This comes in a tube just like the flavoured lip-gloss. The applicator is useful and isn't messy. This lip-gloss also has a nice fruity scent, which is nice. The colour is nice and metallic which is good for applying over lipstick to add sheen. In comparison to the frutopian lip gloss range the lip sundae range isn't sticky and a lot more smooth. I love that it isn't sticky so when the wind blows, my hair won't be sticking to my lips! Wahay! I also use it on my eyelids as an eye shadow, which is really cool because a lot of eye creams have been introduced and are pretty much in fashion so this is quite useful for lips and eyes. If anyone purchases this I do recommend you use it on your eye lids, it's fab. You can use it on your eye lids alone for a glossy, shimmery look or over another eye shadow for a more glossy lids look. LIP SHINE LIPGLOSS~~ This lip shine is quite different to the lip-glosses because it's in a long glass container, which is different but nice, looking. They mostly come in plain, nude colours. I bought a white/silver one and it kind of makes me look a bit weird so its best to use over lipstick as it can look a bit too natural at times. The applicator is very good and it's like a brush. I wasn't too fond of the shape of the container because it looked a bit weird but was different. It grew on me after a while because it's so different. I have actually purchased more lip glosses and I love the colour range. This lip gloss is much smoother than the fruitopion range and I guess in that sense it is much more pr
actical. If your looking for a full on bright colour then this wouldn't be a good choice because the colours are more natural looking on the lips with a slight tint. The colours available are: Celeb, Ciber, Haze, Kiss and Tell, Metallic, Pink Me Up, Pouty, Psychedelic, Smile and Stoked. LIPSICLE LIPGLOSS~~ When I first saw this I thought it was eyeliner in very, very strange colours. The applicator is quite long but makes it look a bit more exciting. It is cute packaging but the applicator is slightly annoying. When it's running out and you've still got some left don't expect to be able to use it! The actual bit that holds the lip gloss is a small rounded shape which leads up to a long bit which holds the applicator. See it is very eye liner like don't you think? The actual packaging is very cute but not practical in any sense of the word. I hate the fact that there's always going to be left over gloss lurking at the bottom of the bottle. The actual colour is very impressing because it is a swirl of two different colours which is very attractive to look at and even looks lovely on your lips. LIPSTICK~~ At first I wasn't too bothered to purchase the lipstick as I have always been a lip gloss girl but decided to try it anyway. I mean why stop now after purchasing half the range. Anyway I decided to go for my signature lipstick colour which is a chocolate brown, the lipstick was also ironically named "Choc it up". Anyway I hadn't tried to lipstick for a while but when I did I asked myself why the hell did I leave it lying around for so long? The lipstick is so smooth and so simple to apply. It's definitely full of moisture. When you look at the lipstick with the cap off you can definitely tell the stuff will moisturise your lips. I also dug the cute packaging. It comes in a transparent container so you can actually see the lipstick even when the cap is on. Quite handy that. I think th
e packaging is rather classy and extremely cute. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of the lipstick as I thought it wouldn't really be as good as my 'designer' favourites but really it is worth checking out. There is also a whole range of excellent colours to choose from such as: Choc it up, Envy, Groovy, Guilty, Hyper, Laser, Love, No Fear, Phantom, Q&A, Scream and Uptown Girl. SHIMMERING POWDER~~ This comes in a cute little pot with loose shimmering powder. The container is quite small but there is quite a lot of powder in the pot. There have been so many occasions where I lose my balance whilst holding the pot so make sure you don't loose the contents on doing something dopey like myself! I sometimes mix this with other loose powder and you can make pretty cool colours. I sometimes put Vaseline on my eyes then put some powder on. It usually stays on by itself though. It can be used anywhere even though it seems there absolutely nothing in it. I like using it on my cheekbones for a sexy shimmery look as well as on my eye lids. The pot is a cute little box shape and is tiny but trust me it lasts ages. I wouldn't recommend using loads of the loose powder because it can look a bit too full on if too much is applied so take my advice and use as little as possible, you will still get great coverage. The product comes in an array of colours which is so useful as there's just so much selection. The colours available are: Aurora Borealis, Beaming, Charisma, Fairy Dust, Flaming, Flirtatious, Heaven, Hologram, Impulsive, Magic, Mirage, Oasis, Pixie Powder, Shine On, Twilight and Vivid. NAIL PAINT~~ I have only ever bought one caboodles nail polish and I must admit I didn't like it much. The colour was nice but the bottle was a bit ugly. It looked a bit cheap and the applicator wasn't all that either. The colour was probably the best thing (which is what 'most' people look for in a nail
polish, but not me!) it had a nice colour and lasted quite a while, if only the packaging was a bit nicer. I have bought a few more bottles of the nail paint since there colours are quite different and I am quite happy with the nail paint itself, although I keep the actual bottle hidden in my drawer. I would recommend the nail paint because it does last for quite a while and the colours are just lovely, definitely shades that are hard to find elsewhere. They have colours for everything which is just so damn convenient. LIP CRAYON~~ Now this is what I call cool! The lip crayon was easy to apply and there was quite a lot of moisture in the lip crayon too, which left my lips really soft and smooth. I really liked the colours but most are quite natural and don't show up on your lips, its more like a gloss cause you don't really see the colour but still its groovy! I would recommend using this if you're going for a more natural look or if you want to glam it up why not use a lip gloss on top. I didn't really expect much from this as I don't really use lip crayons and lip liners but this one is definitely something worth checking out, especially if you love natural yet glam looking lips. MASCARA~~ The mascara comes in a similar package to the lip shine lipgloss. I was a bit hesitant to try this as I am used to trying more expensive brands of mascara, but hey I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It was just so easy to apply and to make it much better it's waterproof. I was pleasantly surprised with this product as it gave me luscious lashes and to top it off there's an array of colours to choose from. You can get the original black shade or more groovy colours such as red, blue, purple, green and silver. Definitely a colour to suit any mood. I have yet to try some of the coloured mascaras but I will soon enough as I was so happy with the original. The colours available are Black, Burgundy, Crystal Cle
ar, Deep Blue, Fever, Jade, Plum Purple, Quick Silver and Zing. EYE SHADOW~~ Now I have to be honest, I'm not much of a fan of eye shadow. Well not for daily use anyway but this eye shadow actually makes me want to use it on a regular basis. I was just so shocked at how good it was. In the past when I've used eye shadows I feel they are a bit too powdery. This eye shadow isn't as powdery and lasts on your eye lids for ages. The packaging is cute too. It's in a little circular box with a clear lid so you can see the colour. One thing I love about the eye shadow is that it's got a really good texture and really easy to apply. There are so many good colours to choose from to, I own several colours now! The different colours you can get are: Blaze, Current Affair, Daydream, Just, Maybe, Mystery, Natural, Smooth, Techno and Wildchild. PACKAGING~~ When I first saw a picture of caboodles make up I fell in love with the packaging - how sad, but then again that's me. It was colourful and chic. It was small which means you can take it anywhere and they have a huge variety, which is useful. I love the way you are meant to apply lip-gloss and the tubes are just so cute! I liked the shape of the pot for the lip balm but it wasn't very practical. I thought the shimmering powder pot looked tiny as if there was nothing in it but it was cute and since you only use the shimmer sparingly it lasts for ages. The pot was quite messy though, which is a downside. I thought the lip shine lip-gloss packaging was a bit weird, it looked like mascara packaging but it was different and looked quite expensive. The packaging for the lipsicle lip-gloss was very strange, it looked like packaging for eyeliner and the long applicator was quite unnecessary. The only packaging I disliked was the nail paint the bottle looked quite cheap and the top bit was way too wide. I love the colourful stands in Superdrug too, adds a very nice touch
! PRICES~~ I think caboodles products are very reasonably priced. Lip glosses only cost £2.99. That includes the Fruitopian and the lip sundae metallic coloured ones. I think that is a good price for a lip-gloss that lasts for quite a while with a trendy tube too. The lip balm cost £2.79, which I think, is a good price but for a lip balm is a bit pricey. It's got nice packaging and smells nice but that's about it. The lip shine lip-gloss cost me £2.99 also, which I felt, was worth it because the packaging looked quite expensive and the product was quite good. The lipsicle Lip-gloss was also £2.99, which is ok I think, I don't think it was anything special. The lipstick cost £3.49, which I think is worth it because the lipsticks were just so good. The shimmering powder cost £2.99, which I think is worth it because the product does last quite a while even though it looks like it doesn't. The nail paint cost £2.99, which was good value as other nail polishes are about £3.99. They are quite nice colours and if you're looking for different colours look no further. The lip crayon was £3.49, which I wasn't too sure about. It was easy too apply but the colours didn't show up too well so I don't think its brilliant value for money but useful to use over lipstick. The mascara cost £2.99, which is so affordable. I think it is at a really decent price and definitely worth it. The eye shadow cost £3.49, which again I think is definitely worth it. There are an array of colours to choose from so it is worth it. OVERALL~~ When I first started to buy products from Caboodles I noticed they mostly sold lip products and not much else but they have expanded there range a lot and there is so much more variety. Hard to believe but there are still many products I have yet to try out. I can't wait to though because I have been so happy with what I have tried so far. I think Caboodles products would be ideal for peop
le on a budget because there make up is so reasonable priced yet it's still quality stuff. Plus the pretty packaging does not disappoint! I think this is a good brand and I personally think they will become a lot more popular in this country. At the moment Caboodles products are only sold in selected Superdrug stores. I do hope they do expand and begin to sell their products in larger stores such as Boots to make more of a name for themself. They're products are different and very colourful and definitely girly. I absolutely love this brand. I buy so much make up by this brand it' s pathetic! Still have a few more products to try though!! Advantages

          Disadvantages

On walking into superdrug I was immediately drawn to the bright stand that had all the caboodles products on it. I had never seen the products or brand before so I had a wee look. Here is where i found the coolest lip gloss ever! It is in a wee tube similar to a mini toothpaste tube. There were millions of different flavours. I treated my self and got two..the strawberry and the apple. These lip gloss’s don’t just smell totally amazing but they look very swish. The two I bought had these wee balls in them that you can see thru the clear tube. Taking into account you probably pay more for the balls than you do for the actually lip gloss I didn’t care. I have had so many comments about the lip-glosses that I bought. People ask why my lips look so shiny and I tell them then I take out the lip gloss and they are totally astounded at how cool it looks coz of the wee balls floating in the lip gloss then they borrow some and comment on the amazing smell. The gloss can be quite thick when you first apply it but then it must kind of adapt to the temperature of your lips, as it feels better after few minutes. This product lasts for quite a while on your lips and doesn’t come off on glasses much, which is always a bonus. Easily applied either by putting straight onto lips or putting small amount onto your finger then applying to lips. But do be careful...a little bit will go a long way so just a small blob is needed per application.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE~~ Caboodles do a lot of lip products but I would like to see some blushers or maybe some eyeliners. I really like the lip products but would like to see them expand a bit more. Also I think they would be successful if they sold make up accessories such as make up bags
and brushes. The range is so girlie and I know for a fact that I would buy accessories from them. I think if Caboodles made an official site that sells all the products that would be very useful cause I would probably be on it every day! That would be a good idea if they sold products online. Also it would provide consumers with information about the brand, as many people I know have no idea what caboodles is. I think it would be great if stores like Boots sold this make-up brand, the more stores they sell it in the more popular it will become. OVERALL~~ I think this is a good brand and I personally think they will become a lot more popular in this country. They’re products are different and very colourful. I absolutely love this brand. CCaboodles is a brand of make-up by Superdrug. It isn't the best in the world and it is nothing compared to make-up brands like Maybelline and Max Factor. But it does it's job well and that's good enough for me. There are a wide range of products by caboodles, from body glitter to nail varnish. Caboodles is reasonably priced as well which is an added bonus. The make-up usually lasts quite a long time and you only need to replace it a couple of times a day. Some of the make-up is listed below. Coloured Mascara; Caboodle's mascara comes in loads of different colours which is good because a lot of other mascaras only come in black and brown. Caboodles have five different colours, there is purple, black, brown, clear and blue. So you can have whatevercolour you want. They are only £2.99 each which is great value. Lip Gloss; This is some of the best lip gloss I own. There are loads of different flavours, too mny to count. But they smell and taste great. They also work brilliantly on your lips leaving them shiny and great looking. These are also £2.99 and definately worth trying. There are just two of the many products. Although caboodles isn't the best make-up brand it is still good. I like wearing their products and find that they are great value for money and work quite well. I would recommend you try them to see what you think.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

I love this brand (from Superdrug), so far I only own two of their products, Roller Lip Gloss and Purple Mascara, but I intend to get some more! First of all, I give credit to anyone who came up with the name! It's really eye catching and the colourful stands and products must appeal to almost everyone! Their Scented Lip Gloss is gorgeous, It is in a clear plastic tube and inside, contained in the tinted gloss, there is little beads (or something) that are really pretty and make the product look really funky. The actual gloss lasts longer than most others, but would still need to be re-applied. It has a roller-ball aplicator, which makes it quick and easy if your in a rush. It's in quite a comact tube, but the gloss lasts a long time (I use it nearly every day!). It smells good enough to eat aswell! Priced £2.99, HIGHLY RECOMMENEDED!!! And then there is their mascaras, in a clear, attractive test-tube-shaped bottle, with a silver lid. It stays on nicely and isn't too bad when it comes to smudging. It colours your eyelashes well and leaves them feeling in good condition. The aplicator is a nice shape and is easy to use, it applies the products nicely and doesn't make the job to fiddly. Priced £2.99. Again HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. They also have coloured lip glosses, nail varnises, body shimmer and many more funky products (I want them all!)...
