Calendula, better known as Marigold, is one of the most useful herbs available. With it's astringent and antiseptic qualities it is extremely effective, easy to use and very versatile. Historically Calendula flowers were considered beneficial for wounds, by reducing inflammation and it was used to treat various skin diseases. Here are some of it's uses;

It's anti-fungal properties make it useful in combating
thrush. By adding a few drops of Calendula tincture to
your bath water, or by drinking an infusion throughout
the day you can relieve the symptoms.

Calendular is well known for it's antiseptic powers,
therefore is excellent for grazes, cuts, stings, bites etc.
By rubbing calendula cream to the areas or by using a compress, made by soaking a piece of cloth or a flannel in water to which calendula petals have been infused, you can take the sting out of these minor irritations.

Calendula vibrational flower essence can help for people
who tend to be hurtful in their way of communicating.
The essence therefore helps to nurture warmth and
sensitivity in folks when both speaking and listening.

There has been research to show that the use of
Calendula can help some viral infections, although
how this happens is, as yet, not entirely clear.

Athlete's Foot can he helped by adding a few drops
of tincture to the affected areas.
