So effective... and versatile too! (Calendula)

Advantages: works quickly - VERSATILE.

Disadvantages: MAY BE UNSUITABLE FOR HAY FEVER SUFFERERS.

I used to play a lot of football and was always picking up nasty cuts grazes and bruises. On one occasion a cut became infected and a friend recommended using a homeopathic cream to clear it up, the cream contained calendula and it was very effective in clearing up the inflamation.

Calendula is a member of the Marigold family (yes it's a flower)and is extremely effective if used to treat any skin condition. It can be used in the treatment of acne, grazes, cuts, bruises,it acts as an anti inflammatry, helps with the healing of wounds helps heal blisters, and soothes minor scalds or burns. These are the sort of things that I've used it for, but it is also extremely versatile and can be used in various ways.

Calendula petals are edible and can be used in cooking.It is sometimes known as poor mans saffron and has a spicy peppery taste.It can also be taken as a herbal infusion (although I've never tried it )and it's claimed it eases painful periods,as well as being beneficial if you suffer from gastric ulcersor other digestive problems.

I still keep some cream in the medicine cabinet at home, and it goes on holiday with us in case of insect bites or stings. I would recommend it to anyone asa useful addition to their first aid kit or medicine cabinet at home.
