Combine this with a healthy diet and excercise and you'll be flying!!

Being an incredibly fussy eater, I went on the hunt for a supplement that would give me the vitamins and minerals that I am lacking severely in my diet. Having being a vegetarian since the age of five, and a vegetarian who dislikes vegetables, I had to question where my body was finding the things it needed to keep going. I honestly thought my body had evolved to find all the vital vitamins it required from margherita pizza and the stream of chocolate running through my veins. But as I got older, my diet began to show in my dull hair and skin and the fact that I was constantly tired.
After trying a variety of supplements, I found Centrum and I have honestly never felt better. Centrum advance has combinations of all of the key nutrients required to keep you healthy. It has all the vitamins needed to help you gain energy from what you're eating including magnesium. It includes Zinc and Vitamin C which is an antioxidant and helps maintain your immune system. The amount of colds I have caught since taken Centrum has been dramatically reduced, impressive considering that I'm a primary school teacher!! And most importantly for me it contains a whole bunch of vitamins which are essential for the maintenance of healthy looking hair and skin. The vitamins that were clearly lacking in my diet before.
The website is well worth a look too which contains more advice on what each vitamin does for your body and the importance of getting it. There's even a handy questionnaire on there to find out if you're healthy or not. My results came out saying, this is your wake up call. Uh-oh. Oh well, I'm already taking Centrum. Tomorrow maybe the gym...

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A good solid no messing multi-vitamin and mineral

The centrum range is a reliable brand of multi-vitamins and minerals. The one that I currently use is the Centrum Advance multivitamin and mineral tablets.

The tablets are capsule shaped but a bit smaller than your regular capsule which is good for me, as I can find it difficult to take any sort of tablets so this makes it easier. Each tablet is orange and chalky looking.

You can get packs of 30 or 60. Getting the larger packet does save some money. This brand is not the most expensive brand of multi vitamins and minerals but it is certainly not the cheapest either, so any money that can be saved is a bonus.

The tub containing the tablets has a chart which informs you what vitamins and minerals have gone into making the tablet and in what concentration.

Taken regularly, the product definitely makes a difference. I am quite a fussy eater, so I find that taking these tablets helps me to make sure I have a suitable intake of all vitamins and minerals wherever these may be limited due to my slightly restricted diet.

I noticed a difference, subtly in my skin and the rate at which any cuts or grazes healed and also in my resistance to colds going around.

This is a good all-rounder for anyone needing a good solid multi-vitamin and mineral without mucking about!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Everything you need from A to Z

In some things, you really do get what you pay for. I like a bargain as much as the rest, but when it comes to health you really can't cut corners.
With all the pollution and stresses our bodies have to put up with, we have to give it the best to enable it to do what it needs to, to keep us healthy. Obviously, the best way to do this would be by eating a healthy diet, but in todays world, so many of us eat on the run, or eat processed food, that it isn't always possible.

Centrum is a multi-vitamin, in tablet form, that gives you the recommended daily allowance (or RDA) of many vitamins, nutrients and minerals. In that, it is like many other products, including your chemist's own brand of multi-vitamin. However Centrum has been around for many years, and constantly updates their multivitamin to include new minerals and nutrients as current research discovers the validity and necessity of them.
Centrum gives you 100% of the RDA of the following Vitamins and Minerals: Vitamin A, C, D, E, B1, B2, Niacin, B6, Folic Acid (Folacin), B12. Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Zinc and Iodine. 20% of the RDA of Calcium, 33% of the RDA of Magnesium and 16% of the RDA of Phosphorus . There are also other minerals and trace elements (Chromium, Molybdenum, Selenium,Copper, Manganese, Nickel, Tin, Potassium Chloride, Boron, Silicon, and Vanadium. And Vitamin K.

If you check out the labels, and compare Centrum to other multivitamins on the store shelves, you will find few, if any, that can compete with Centrum in the nutritional composition. It is a quality product, constantly being reformulated to adjust to new research, and is superior to many other on-the-shelf products. Unfortunately, it is this cutting edge advantage over its competitors that makes it slightly more expensive.
Centrum does a full range of supplements, for men, for women, for children, for the elderly - all geared to the physical needs of that particular group of people. No guessing, and 100% of most of the necessary vitamins.

It's your money, and your health. You could pay less for a generic product but most cheaper brands either don't have 100% of what you need, or have only the basic vitamins and not all the phyto-nutrients and minerals. Centrum is my choice - it's tried and tested. Worht that bit extra!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A good choice for students and working people who are in needed of that healthy boost

I never really knew the effects multivitamin tables could have until I started taking Centrum A to Z complete. Now this might sound like a complete ploy for the pills but they've helped me out alot since I started taking them. As a university student the lifestyle is quite self explanatory, with drinking, eating badly, sleep lots, generally being quite unhealthy. I may not be the most healthy person in the world, and try as I might I think I have a balanced diet, these tablets have really helped me out in terms of my general health.
Before I started taking them my skin wasn't as toned, it had become blotchy, and I had this distinct feeling alot of the time I wasn't in good shape. I decided to find a multivitamin which would supplement my lifestlye a bit. These have done that for me, and as much as they are not a replacement for a balanced diet I think they have allowed to be more vibrant and energetic in my time at University.
I have and always will eat regular meals every day and have always eaten vegetables and fruit, so this is not a mention that you can eat Pizza hut 7 times a week and feel great, that's ridiculous, I'm trying to say if you health is in a slight lull, these will help you out and get you the nutrients you need.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

I'm glad I tried them as they've made my quality of life so much better

I started on these vitamin suppliments a few months ago and they have made a great difference, you do have to wait a week or 2 to see the difference so please don't look for instant results.

I suffer from a number of ailments and this was recommended to me by a neutrisionist and it has improved my life in general. I suffer from mood swings, SADS, Depression, headaches and random bouts of nausia and when I started to take these my health improved, by no means is it a replacement for a vairied diet but with a diet that is restricted as much as mine it really helped.

Increasing my levels of Vitamin D dramatically helps my mood. I came off the vitamins a few weeks ago as I was moving home and with everything else going on I forgot to take them, now my moods are unpredictable and and I feel like my old self again. After realising what was missing I popped back down to my local boots and stocked up again, I hope I have the same sucess as I had the first time

I have a milk alergy which means I miss out on calcium, but unfortunity the centrum does not help me with this, this is the only negitive I can see with the product other than the size of the tablet its self

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

I eat a fairly good diet, but always have a sneaking suspicion that I'm not getting all the vitamins and minerals that I need and will get scurvy or some other such vitamin deficiency. A quick glance around the vitamin counter at Boots or a health food shop, is very confusing. There are tons of vitamins and mineral supplements. Special vitamins for pregnant women, men, people over 50, children. Lots of the vitamins say things like 'vital for a healthy immune system' or 'vital for healthy brain function'. It's all very confusing. I'm not sure what to take, so I take centrum multivitamins and minerals which incorporates the lot in one tablet. The amounts of vitamins are worked out in RDA (the EC's recommended daily allowance for adults). INGREDIENTS Vitamin A 100% Vitamin D 100% Vitamin E 100% Vitamin C 100% Thiamin (vit B1) 100% Riboflavin (vit B2 ) 100% Niacin 100% Vitamin B6 100% Folacin (folic acid) 100% Vitamin B12 100% Biotin 100% Panothenic acid 100% Iron 100% Iodine 100% Calcium 20% Phosphorus 16% Magnesium 33% Zinc 90% The following ingredients are also in centrum, but there is no recommended daily allowance for them. Vitamin K Copper Manganese Potassium Chloride Boron Silicon Chromium molybdenum selenium nickel tin vanadium So there you are there is a lot in them. It's recommended that you take one a day and don't exceed that. Also you should try and take them with food, I think thats because food aids the absorption of vitamins and minerals. There's been a bit of publicity about supplements containin
g too much vitamins, but all the ingredients in centrum don?t go over 100% of their recommended daily allowance. Centrum costs about £8.50 for 60 tablets, which is a little bit pricey. However it would cost a lot more than this to buy all the supplements separately. Centrum is suitable for adults which is classified as 11+, there are separately centrum types for children, over 50s and I think there are also chewy sorts. There's also a centrum website (www.centrum.co.uk) with information about the product and vitamin taking. So there are health benefits of taing a supplement especially if you are in a group that needs extra vitamins i.e ill or elderly. However I still try and eat a healthy diet as there are nutrients in fruits and vegetables, besides vitamins and minerals that are good for you.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Centrum has been around for as long as I can remember, and every so often they run a new commercial detailing how they've updated their multivitamin to include some new minerals, based on modern research. To me, that shows that the manufacturer really is on top of things. Not only are they up to date with current trends and what the modern person is looking for in their daily regimen, but they are also not jumping the gun. They wait until the new ingredients have been tried and tested before adding them in. I give Centrum a big A+ for putting a fantastic, trustable product out there. If you look at the label, and compare the items listed to other multivitamins on the store shelves, you will probably find few, if any, that compare to Centrum as far as just how much they've got you covered nutritionally. Many times I have reached for a less expensive brand, only to put it back when I realized that when it comes to vitamins, you often get what you pay for in quality. I am willing to spend slightly more for quality, though I am known to prefer generics and to look for the best bargain. Centrum would be my preferred choice.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Centrum is a multivitamin and mineral supplement. It is fairly expensive compared to most others, but when you read the stats, it's worth it. Centrum gives you 100% of the RDA of the following Vitamins and Minerals: Vitamin A, C, D, E, B1, B2, Niacin, B6, Folic Acid (Folacin), B12. Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Zinc and Iodine. You also get 20% of the RDA of Calcium, 16% of the RDA of Phosphorus and 33% of the RDA of Magnesium. On top of this is Vitamin K, and a whole bunch of minerals that don't have an RDA yet: Copper, Manganese, Potassium, Chloride, Boron, Silicon, Chromium, Molybdenum, Selenium, Nickel, Tin and Vanadium. I don't see what use boring old boron could have as a supplement, but there you go. Compare this to Boot's own make Antioxidants one a Day Vitamins (they have Multivitamin and Mineral stated on the packet, so they should be similar in theory.) These have only Vitamin B1, B3, Pantothenic Acid, B12, C, D, E, Folic Acid, Calcium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese and Selenium. Of those, most are 100%, although Vitamin E is 670%, Calcium is 37% and Copper, Manganese and Selenium have no RDA. You get 50 of these for less than the cost of 30 Centrum pills. They are large, flat capsules, while Centrum pills are thinner across, but fatter in height, and more capsule shaped. Boots pills smell disgusting in a yeasty way, while Centrums smell disgusting in a minerally way. Not much difference there... So, value for value, I think the Centrum pills are better. I looked at a number of vitamin pills when I chose the Centrums. They have a very wide variety, and offer 100% of most things. There are multivitamins out there that offer a lot more than Centrum (they read like a chemistry set) but they don't give you 100% of the RDA. It's a shame they don't offer more Calcium, though - if you don't drink a lot of milk, or don't l
ike cheese, you do need a supplement. The focus on RDAs is a bit silly - a healthy diet is better, but if you're eating on the run a lot, or are a Vegetarian / are allergic to the main source of XYZ, then you need a supplement, and I think this is the best all rounder there is.

This is an incredibly expensive product - considering the alternative available. You'd think that this product was the elixir of life, given its price and advertising. It isn't. This product is a multi-vitamin. It is a tablet that gives you the recommended daily allowance (or RDA) of many vitamins, nutrients and minerals. So do many other products, including your chemist's own brand of multi vitamin. My advice is, check the label. Compare Centrum with an own-brand product and see what you are missing if you spend 99p instead of £3.99.
