Advantages: Easy to use, fairly priced, does the job, has heat protectors for your gorgeous locks
Disadvantages: Don't use too much, or it can go a bit crispy
Hot Curls Setting Spray
I have very long, thick hair. I does natually have a wave to it but its far from curly, and because of the weight of my hair, curls very rarely stay in long enough for me to make it from the house to the taxi!
I bought this product quite a few months ago.I have used it many times and I still have just under 1/3 of a bottle left and I have looooots of hair to cover! It comes in a Bronze and orange coloured bottle and has a spray nozzle.
200 ml for about £5 (if I remember).
I use this product when curling my hair with ceramic heated rollers from Babyliss.
Your hair should be dry. Take the section of hair you are going to wind around the rolloer, spray it with the product ( I only use a light misting rather than a spray), comb through the hair and then wind it round the roller. Repeat with the rest of you hair.
When I took all the rollers out I had fabulous, bouncy curls with loads of body. They looked exactlly how I wanted them too look!
I found that the product left my hair looking really shiny and was not drying or crispy, which is how it can be if you use hairspray to do the same thing.
The setting spray has heat activated protection too, so it's a lot healthier for your hair if you are using heated styling products.
I find that my curls really hold their shape for alot longer than they have done in the past, but because it medium hold, they still bounce and have a natural movement to them, so you don't look like you've got a cardboard head! I don't even bother to use hairspray afterwards as, for me, this prduct is just enough. If you wanted a more secure look, then you would probably want to use hairspray too.
There is, inevitabily, a little drop to the curl, but usually by about 3am and by that point does anyone really care!?
Summary: Fabulous. Does the job and my curls really stay

- 12/01/08 Oh for glorious bouncy curls - I just get frizz! As for the lack of 'bounce' at 3am - I agree, no-one tends to care at that time of the morning. Good review :-) |
