Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), also know as Post Viral Fatigue (PVS), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) or ‘Yuppie Flu’ is a condition which primarily is associated with severe fatigue, malaise or total burnout. It is generally thought that CFS is contracted through a virus such as glandular fever, flu, bad tummy bugs and/or exposure to chemicals such as organophosphates etc. After a period of time this virus kicks in and CFS is formed. Did you know that the CFS is the second largest cause of long-term sickness of school (over 3 months) children next to leukemia? Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is not just associated with fatigue; there are other ... Read the complete review

Speaking as a mother of an ill (disabled) child. Illness in your own child is terrible, worse than being ill yourself. The worry and pain your children give you when they are ill is really almost too much to bear. My daughter Sleepydormouse contracted chronic fatigue syndrome when she was 13 she is now 24 about to be a mum herself. So no longer a child, but my child forever, someone I love and want to protect and want no harm to come to. She still suffers with chronic fatigue but has learnt to manage it and live with it as you do with any disability some days good some days bad. That doesn't mean to say she does not miss being able to ... Read the complete review

This is a long read so for those like me who have the condition, feel free to take your time and have a break if you need to. M.E, or CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome as its now called) for those who don’t already know, is a strange, energy draining condition which affects people for varying times, 6 months for some to in my case, 11 years. Below is an explanation of what the condition is believed to be, followed by my experiences/beliefs and how I deal with it. Unlike some who seem to get depressed which is understandable, I’m not negative about it so feel free to read on! Hopefully you will have some fun reading about some of my experiences. ... Back in 1987 I caught a dose of 'flu and before I was even over it, a bad bout of bronchitis. Understandably, I was laid low for a while, and looked forward to getting back to normal again. Three weeks later, I still felt very washed out. That's fair enough, I thought, 'flu leaves you like that. I tried to carry on as normal, but always felt 'below par.' A couple of months later, I still didn't feel wonderful, so I decided I needed some kind of health regime to get me back on track. As well as watching my diet and trying to eat healthily, I started trying to exercise more, especially on my exercise bike, and when I ached soon ... Read the complete review

Having suffered from ME for almost 10 years, I am writing this opinion to show that not only family and friends can at times lack in giving support, but also the medical profession itself. I trained as a nurse and had reached CNM level when I developed ME after what appeared to be a minor infection after surgery. The diagnosis was not based on what was found, but rather on what was not found after various tests. I eventually had to give up my job and have been unable to work since. I continued with my up spells and my down spells and my symptoms mirrored most of those listed for the condition in the books I read. My B12 levels were also found to be low ...
