Advantages: noticeble difference in skin quality
Disadvantages: none really
I have been using this 3 Step Skin Care system for the best part of five years now. I think it is brilliant. If you've never used it and want to give it a go here's a guide to help you. Go to any Clinique counter - these can be found in any department stores - Debenhams, Rackhams, and even larger Boots. I know that the assistants at these counters can seem slightly patronizing but it will be worth it in the end! The assistant will take you through a consultation; this is to find out what type of skin you have so that the 3-Step system can be tailored to your individual needs. You will be asked the following questions: * What colour eyes do you have? * What is the natural colour of you hair? * How does you skin react to the sun without protection? * What is your skin’s natural colour (without a suntan)? * What is your pore size? (By this they mean what size are your pores on your face) * Do you have a tendency to breakout? (Do you get a lot of spots - best not to go near the time of the month!)? * Is your skin oily or dry or a combination of both? * How many facial lines do you have? They will put the answers to these questions on a special chart, which will then determine which types of the system you require. The 3 Step system is made up of three products (no you don't say!) which are: Clinique Facial Soap This comes in three strengths - Extra Mild, Mild and Extra Strength. Extra mild - for very sensitive skin that is quite dry Mild - for sensitive skin that is usually combination (oily and dry) Extra Strength - for very oily skin prone to breakouts. This comes in a bar with it's own dish. The soap has no real smell and produces a good lather. This dish is very useful if you are going on holiday. You use the soap as you would any other soap - just lather up, wash and rinse. This soap works better on skin free of makeup so use a
makeup remover before washing your face. Next comes Clarifying Lotion This comes in two sizes - 6.7 fl oz and 13.5 fl oz. The larger size is better value for money. It comes in five strengths - Mild, 1,2,3,4 Mild is for super sensitive skin ranging to lotion 4 which removes nail varnish (I kid you not!) The smell is rather off putting, as it smells quite clinical. You use this after you have washed and dried you face. Put a little lotion on a cotton wool pad and wipe it over your skin using one stroke only per area. Remember to keep away from the eye area. This lotion acts as an exfoliator removing dead skin cells and priming the skin for moisturising. Finally use Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion. This comes in two sizes - 4 fl oz and 1.7 fl oz. It is yellow in colour and is quite runny but doesn't have any smell to it. You only need a small amount. Apply it to your face after the clarifying lotion. Because this moisturiser has been formulated for use after clarifying it should sink into your skin without a trace leaving it soft and smooth. You can buy the 3 Step Skin Care System as a pack, which reduces the cost. This system really is value for money at around £35.00 for the 3 items they will last a good six months if used in the correct amounts. I noticed a difference in my skin after about three weeks’ continuous use, and I can tell the difference immediately if I don't use it every day. Brilliant system, value for money and most importantly nice skin to boot!

- 14/05/02 The girls at clinique did a great job in transforming me from spotty teenager to, well a less spotty teenager. The three steps are so simple, and the opinion gives people a good idea of what to expect from the rather dauntingly beautiful girls at the Clinique counter!! |

- 17/05/01 I used Clinique on my post baby body and was amazed, as someone who usually ops for pound shop lotions and a bar of soap it was a very expensive brand for me but it really does work. Good op, one to think about, thanks. |

- 06/04/01 I started using Clinique last year and am very happy with it. I use the no. 2 clarifying lotion as I have oily skin and found it stung at first! I also swapped the DD moisturiser for the oil-free hydrator which is great for my skin. |
