Advantages: Look better, value for money
Disadvantages: Slightly dodgy image!
Cosmetics and blokes don't really go together in most peoples minds. Except that we all use certain things don't we? Shaving foam maybe? Deoderant (if that doesn't mean anything to you and no-one seems to like you head for Boots!), spot of after shave now and then? So here's the scoop - when my flatmate wasn't looking I nicked a bit of his Clinique facial scrub to try - for the uninitiated we're talking about a face wash with what feels like little bits of grit mixed in so it really feels like you're scrubbing away. It left me with a strange tingly feeling - and clean skin! Reading through FHM (okay looking at the pictures!) I noticed the grooming awards gave Clinique's Aloe shaving gel the top award. Now I have sensitive skin and Clinique is designed with that in mind. Wandering through the duty free one day, I spotted a special 3 for the price of 2 deal. Having tried one product and had one recommended I thought "I'm having some of that!". I picked up a bottle of the post shave soother as the third item as I know I'm prone to dry skin. It seemed a little bit pricey at the time but consider this: women spend tons on cosmetics - its best not to ask as you'll do yourself damage either laughing or crying depending on who foots the bill; likewise the bottle of soother and the scrub which I bought in April I'm still using which I reckon makes it good value for money! The scrub is best used a couple of times a week - certainly don't need it every day. It gets rid of crap like blackheads and generally leave you feeling shiny and new. The shave gel, is smooth and cool and better than anything else which I've used - I couple it up with a Mach 3 and it keeps me smooth and kissable which is lucky as women appear to appreciate well looked after skin. I top off with a little of the moisturiser after shaving which is an excellent finishing touch.
I have used tons of other products to keep my skin in order - its gets dry and it gets spotty. This is the first time I've been happy with a product and I intend to keep on using it. There is a lot of other stuff in the range which I haven't tried but if the three products that I've used up til now are an indication, it should be the biz! So the message is - shed your prejudices, open your wallet and just as you would invest in a new suit, shoes or after shave, get yourself some decent skin care products coz its a complete package that you're selling!
