good old cussons! (Cussons Pearl Soap)

i always buy imperial leather soap but decided that my daughters & I needed a bit more moisturiser so bought cussons pearl for a change

i found it on offer at tesco.com - 4 x 125g for just 74p which is much cheaper than I've seen it elsewhere

the soap comes in a white or pink colour - I chose the white to match our bathrooms

the packaging is attractive - the cussons logo is clearly marked so is easy to locate and, even without opening the outer package, you can smell the nice fragrance

the ingredients are listed on the outer packet & there is a free phoneline & postal address provided for questions or comments

inside there are 4 x 125g bars which are in plain individual packs but easy to open (unlike the imperial leather ones!)

the cussons logo is imprinted on each bar & the smell is really nice - it's fresh & 'soapy'-smelling but not overpowering and not particularly feminine so would be suitable for all the family

being an oval, skightly curved & quite chunky shape the bar is easy to hold even with wet hands - nothing worse than losing your soap is there?!

the best thing for me is the lather - it's lovely & creamy even when just a little water is added - so great when used in the bath, shower or just using as a handwashing soap.

the skin feels very clean, soft & moisturised when you've used it & unlike some soaps it is easy & quick to rinse off

the smell stays for a while which is good when you've had a relaxing bath/ invigorating shower, but may not be the best one to keep by the kitchen sink if preparing food?

the bars themselves are solid so I think for this reason they'll last quite some time


I used to use very cheap soaps when I was a student but was forever cleaning slimy soap dishes - since using cussons' products I have never had this problem

I would recommend this soap if you like a moisturising, nice-smelling, good-lathering, long lasting one.
