Depilatories / Hair Removal for Women in General

Newest Review: ... them to. I usually get fed up and wash the whole lot off before the time is up. This summer I decided to try waxing for the first time. I was most worried about the pain but it really wasn't that bad. What was worse was the fact that everything I touched seemed to stick to me! I had wax and strips stuck to my hands, legs, the bath, the floor - even the light switch. When i eventually finished I had to shower from top to bottom and wash the bathroom with boiling hot water to melt the stuff off all the surfaces. Nevertheless, I did actually feel quite smooth in most places, went over the missed spots with a razor and the feeling l... more

Premium Review Depilatories / Hair Removal for Women in General: No more fluffing about (400 words)

Shaving, waxing, creams, exfoliating pads...I've tried them all - unfortunately, many with little success. Firstly I tried shaving which is fine, but as everyone knows, the hair grows back so quick. Then I started using the creams... well, what a messy job. The products usually smell really bad, they get places you don't particulary want them to go, you have to stand in a zombie-like position for 5 to 10 minutes (then the phone or doorbell rings!), and they don't actually remove all the bits you want them to. I usually get fed up and wash the whole lot off before the time is up. This summer I decided to try waxing for the first time. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Aculight - laser hair removal (144 words)

As someone who has to shave their legs everyday I was fed up with having sore, stubbly legs!!! I paid up for a course of laser hair removal by a company called Aculight. I have only had one treatment so far and already the difference is amazing. The hair on my legs now only grows back in patches (for lower legs the consultant informed me on average you will need six treatments). The treatment works by destroying the hair follicle and works best on those with pale skin and dark hair growth. They put some strange gunk on your legs then zap it off with the laser. You have to wear some stylish(!) shades and to begin with it feels as if someone is holding a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Depilatories / Hair Removal for Women in General: Waxing: Not as Bad as it's Made Out - Honest! (1260 words)

Hair removal. The bane of any woman's life. It's there, it keeps on growing, and one way or another most of us regularly attempt to rid ourselves of it. But what is the best way? My method of choice, contrary to many of the ops I've read, is waxing. It gets effective results and lasts for ages, and the more you do it, the less the hair comes back. How cool is that? So I have to start with a confession. I am absolutely rubbish at shaving my legs. The first time I ever tried it (I was about ten - sneakily in the bathroom with my stepmother's razor - yuk!) I managed to take a huge gouge out of my leg. Not much has changed since. ...  Read the complete review

I'm a pretty lazy person when it comes to my beauty routine. I like simple and quick products that make life easy. A particular hatred of mine was plucking my eyebrows. It takes so long, I never knew which hair to pluck and I always have a few hairs which really make my eyes water. To be honest I hate it so much I've even used the pop up trimmer on my husbands electric shaver to trim them!!! I'd seen in magazines those kits that you can get to make your eyebrows the same shape as a celebrities. Trouble with them was they were about £15 and were only stencils. Back to the razor and painstaking tweezers! One day I was mooching around ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Depilatories / Hair Removal for Women in General: No hair's here. (633 words)

As the holiday period is coming up, I thought I'd write an op on hair removal. I wax, shave and use hair removing cream. I shave my legs and underarms, wax my arms and use bikini hair remover cream. *SHAVING* -Shaving is probably the quickest and easiest way of removing unwanted hair. -It is especially good for leg and underarm hair. -Never shave your bikini line, as it will be uncomfertable when the hair grows back. -The downside of shaving is that the hairs grow back very quickly, so you'll have to shave everyday or two. -It's best to shave in the bath, as the warm water will open the pores making shaving easier. ...  Read the complete review
