Advantages: no more hair

Disadvantages: it grows back

As the holiday period is coming up, I thought I'd write an op on hair removal. I wax, shave and use hair removing cream. I shave my legs and underarms, wax my arms and use bikini hair remover cream.

*SHAVING*

-Shaving is probably the quickest and easiest way of removing unwanted hair.
-It is especially good for leg and underarm hair.
-Never shave your bikini line, as it will be uncomfertable when the hair grows back.
-The downside of shaving is that the hairs grow back very quickly, so you'll have to shave everyday or two.
-It's best to shave in the bath, as the warm water will open the pores making shaving easier.
-Make sure you use a shaving cream or foamy shower gel, else you'll end up with a rash.
-Take shaving slowly, else you'll end up with cuts, and not all the hairs will have been shaved off.
-Don't apply under arm roll on straight after shaving, as it will sting.
-Remember to rinse the razor in between shaves, or it'll be clogged up with hair and shaving foam.

Firstly, I spread shaving gel on to my legs, I use: ORIGINAL SOURCE TEA TREE AND MINT SHAVE GEL, as it's vey foamy and smells nice. It leaves your legs soft and smooth. You can't miss it in the shops, as it is a bright green bottle with big black letters.
I shave using GILLETE FOR WOMEN VENUS, £5.49. It is an attractive clear blue in colour and it gives a close shave. It says on the packet to change the blade every 6 shaves, to ensure a proper shave.

*WAX*

-Waxing is good, as long as you don't mind a bit of discomfort.
-Wax comes in a variety of forms: Wax strips, gel and roll on, so you can choose one to suit you.
-When waxing, make sure you remove the hairs in the direction they are growing, as this will remove more hairs.
-Holding the part of skin you are waxing so it's tight can take some of the pain away, so it hurts less.
If there is still
some left over wax on your skin after waxing, a bit of baby oil on cotton wool will remove it.
-Waxing lasts from 2 weeks to a month.

To wax, I use SUPERDRUG HAIR REMOVING WAX STRIPS, which come in a pack of 5, and are reuseable. The pack is a bright orange, so you can't miss it.

*HAIR REMOVING CREAM*

-Always do a patch test before using this product, especially if you have sensitive skin.
- Always use an after cream or moisturisor after using hair removal cream, to return skin to it's natural ph balance.
-Wait 24 hours before using deodrant, pefume, or sunbathing after using this product.
-Hair removing creams don't smell particularly good.
-Aviod contact with your eyes.
-Do not leave it on for longer than 10 minutes.

The hair removing cream I use is SUPERDRUG MOISTURISING BIKINI HAIR REMOVER. This product has added camomile and vitamin e, and comes with a 'soothing finishing balm', which smells lovely. The packet is a light sky blue in colour. All you do is spread the cream on to the area you want the hair removed from, wait 5 minutes, check a small patch, and if the hair comes off, clean the area using a flannel with warm water on. Dry the area, and spread on the after cream.

Thankyou for reading, and I hope you found this useful to you.

I generally shave but have used the creams too. I wouldn't recommend shaving the bikini line as you say though, it's not very nice when it starts to grow back!

Someone assure ADBoyce that women aren't turned on by hairy bums. :-) I also was thrown by the comments of the blokes. A good op.

It'd be far nicer if they could add a nice smell to the hari removing creams wouldn't it! I don't know why they can't, every other product smells nice (well most other products!)
