Advantages: cheap, quick and really works

Disadvantages: none I can think of

If you want a really close shave AND smooth, soft skin without razor rash, use oil instead of expensive shaving creams/gels. A little really goes a long, long way and you can go over missed patches without constantly reapplying.
I started of using ordinary baby oil but now I buy a big bottle of grapeseed oil (nice and light) and add a few drops of my favourite aromatherapy oils for the personalised touch. Just rub a small amount onto wet skin and get shaving! My husband uses it on his face and head too( he's got so little hair left that a wet shave makes sense!)
It really does work, it's quick and easy and works out cheaper in the long run.
I have also found that if you apply the oil over the rest of your body before you towel dry, it leaves your skin soft and moisturised without that greasy residue.
