Its certainly been a while since I write a review of any of the more unusual health and beauty treatments I have subjected myself to over the years but Hopi Ear Candles are something I have been meaning to try for a couple of years. I visited a chiropractor?s practice this afternoon to make an appointment to sort out my trapped sciatic nerve and spotted Hopi Ear Candles for use at home for £6 for a pair. Given that in a salon this treatment would probably require about 45 minutes and cost between £20 and £30, I decided to try a pack out. Hopi Ear Candles or Ear Candling is a technique which has its roots in Siberia, Asia and North and South American Indians and ... Read the complete review

I have a lot to live down at work. I saw these Hopi ear candles being used at the Seni martial arts show in April and thought they looked fascinating. So when my local GNC started stocking them I decided to shell out the £16.50 it costs for three sets. The ear candles were first used by the Hopi, a Pueblo people although their roots have also been traced to tribes from the Siberian praries, Asia and other native american tribes. They were used in initiation and medicinal ceremonies. The Hopi brought the candles to europe and the company who makes the ones I was using: Biosun have been marketing them since 1985. The ear candle is a ... Read the complete review

So I decided anything was worth a try. The candles are in fact long thin hollow tubes made from linen and bees wax mixed with herbs including sage, St Johns Wort and camomile. The heat from the burning candle creates suction which draws the wax ... Read the complete review

Update 10.11.2002 Please note that the GIF image that this Site displays on the same page as my opinion for Hopi Ear Candles, is not an image of BIOSUN Earcandles, I do not know what brand that particular photograph depicts. Despite reminders in the past, this image has not been changed or clarified. Therefore, I cannot be held responsible or accountable if you have, or are, misled into purchasing another brand - which may not be up to the required standards. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------- Thermo-auricular Therapy or Hopi Ear Candles are fast becoming another popular ... Since being young my ears (along with my throat) have always been my weak point. I suffered many infections and periods of deafness and this continued into adult life. Along with that came excema inside the ear canals. A horrible conditions that makes you wish you could scratch your ears inside out! Many times this results in infections and deafness. As someone who sings a lot this was a great disadvantage as well as feeling a lot of discomfort. About two years ago I saw an article in a magazine concerning a professional singer who had the same problem. She recommended ear candling. Ear candling is a traditional Hopi Indian method of treating the ears ... Read the complete review
