Advantages: feels great on your skin, noticeable results quickly

Disadvantages: expensive

Every woman wants fabulous skin. We've all shelled out extortionate amounts of money on overpriced potions and lotions, desperate for that supermodel glow. They rarely make much difference. I've tried every possible range, from Maybelline to Clarins, Clinique, No7, Elizabeth Arden, but my skin has remained stubbornly blotchy and dull - until now. I've found the range for me. I have been using Estee Lauder skincare products for the past three months, and my skin has never looked better.

Prior to using these products, I had mediocre skin, combination oily and dry, with hectic red blotches which got worse in cold weather or when I was under stress. I also had regular breakouts, which wasn't helped by the fact that I have a very bad habit of 'picking' at and rubbing my face when I'm bored or nervous. Spot creams made the problem worse. I often resorted to slathering my face I make up to hide the problem rather than tackling it at its source.

Now, my skin is softer, I very rarely suffer from spots, my pores are much less visible and the red patches are all but gone. Even my boyfriend, who is usually oblivious to any changes I make to my appearance, has noticed a difference!

So, I bet you're all dying to know now, what are the magical products that have helped me achieve the skin I've always longed to have??

ESTEE LAUDER SKIN REFINISHER

This is a refining product, designed to minimise pores, eradicate fine lines and tone down redness in the skin. And I have to say, it does all that and feels fabulous while it does it! You apply it before you apply your moisturiser, either first thing in the morning or last thing at night (I do both!). It makes your skin feel absolutely fabulous, silky soft and radiant. Your face instantly looks smoother and less aggravated. It takes about two weeks before you notice a difference in the size of your pores, but mine ar definitely much smaller now. The main b
onus for me though, is the reduction in the redness of my skin. I don't need to use nearly as much make-up as I did, and I even go without sometimes, as my skin feels so good!

Be warned though, this produce is quite pricey. A small bottle costs £29, I've had mine for three months and I don't think it's going to last much longer. Still, I'm happy to pay that for a product that works so well and makes me feel so good - especially since I have paid more for products that did absolutely nothing to improve my skin.

ESTEE LAUDER DAYWEAR MOISTURISING CREAM

I use this moisturiser over the aforementioned refinisher. Estee Lauder offer either a daywear cream or lotion, which is lighter and cheaper, but I chose the cream after trying them both in the store - it's much richer and more luxurious, and you don't need to use as much. It smells really nice, like cucumbers, and the smell of a product is really important to me - I don't want to put something on my face that I don't like the smell of. It moisturises my skin really nicely and gives me a healthy glow.

This costs £25 for a decent sized pot, and I hardly seem to have used any of this in the three months I've had it - it should last me another six months to a year.

ESTEE LAUDER ADVANCED NIGHT REPAIR

This is an occasional product that supposedly contains active ingredients that help the skin heal and repair itself, and combat pollution and toxins that have built up in the skin. Now, I'll be honest, this came free as part of a bonus when I bought the other two products, and it's unlikely that I would have bought it out of my own money. It sounds gimmicky to me. I have to admit though, when I've applied it to the odd spot that has developed, it's cleared up much more quickly than I'm used to, and I guess it could have had a beneficial effect on the redness of my skin too, although personally I think it's mor
e to do with the refinisher than this. Anyway, it's a clear liquid that you dab sparingly onto the part of your skin you want 'repaired', and it doesn't really smell or feel of anything. I'm not sure of the exact price, but I think it's quite a bit moe expensive than the refinisher and moisturiser, maybe around £35 - £40. I don't think I'll be buying it when it runs out, but it certainly hasn't harmed my skin in any way, and may have contributed to the improvement of my skin more than I realise.

And that's it! These three products (the first two being the most frequently used and therefore pivotal part of the process) have helped turn my spotty, hectic, decidedly average skin into something I can be really proud of! I don't use Estee Lauder cleanser and toner, as they're very expensive, and to be honest I think cheaper brands do the job just as well. In my experience, you can get away with using cheaper cleansing products, but can't skimp on what you put on your skin afterwards. I use No 7 cleaner and a clinique scrub when I need to exfoliate, and use these luxury items on top.

Everyones' skin is different, and what suits me may not suit everyone else, but for quality and 'doing what it says it does on the box' I heartily recommend Estee Lauder products. I am a complete convert, and will be using the refinisher and moisturiser for the rest of my life, or at least, until they stop making them, and the search will have to begin all over again! For now, at least, I really can say with complete honesty...

"I'VE GOT GREAT SKIN!!!!"

Lucky you, finding the 'perfect' product! Bit pricey for me to experiment with at the moment, though.

I'm glad you found a beauty product that suits you so well.

Lamorna in a 'managing with Nivea right now' kinda way!
