Advantages: Holds the style, Gets rid of frizz, Smells good
Disadvantages: Sticky if you use too much
These days my hair is short and relatively manageable but in years gone by I had long hair, which I often had permed. As the perm grew out it the whole thing used to get progressively more and more frizzy until I looked like an explosion in a mattress factory - hence the title of this opinion! That is until I discovered Frizz Ease by John Frieda. At first I thought that this would be a bit of a con. You know the sort of product I mean, where it promises perfection and struggles to deliver mediocrity. It was advertised as the product to use on heat-treated, permed or coloured hair to bring back manageability, hold and shine. Anyway I decided to give it a try and bought a can of the Corrective Styling Mousse, which cost about £3.50 or thereabouts for a 200ml carton. All I had to do was shake the can well and then turn it upside down to dispense a little ball of foam onto the palm of my hand. I then used my fingertips to apply it evenly through my hair, mainly on the ends of the hair where the frizziness was at its worst. It does say on the can that you should apply this product to damp hair but I always found that it worked equally well on either damp or dry hair. So it was good to use as a quick fix if I was going out. I was very impressed to find that the frizziness all but disappeared with no trace of stickiness on my hair and the curls remained well defined with a natural bounce. The mousse also acted to hold the style in place eliminating the need for hair spray and gave my hair a lovely shine too. The smell of the mousse is pleasant enough without being overpowering. It?s a sweet 'hairdressers' sort of smell. I found that I only needed to apply a small amount to my hair to 'do the job' as it were. In fact, if I applied too much, it was then that my hair would feel sticky. You can tell how economical it is, I still have some left in the can! That's what m
ade me think of doing this opinion actually! I was having a look round for anything that I used which I hadn't yet written about! So, far from being a con, I found that whilst I had my hair permed I couldn't live without John Frieda Frizz Ease. There are other products available in this range too. I have also used the serum on occasions, which was just as good, but I haven't used any of the other products so I can't comment on those.
