How an earth do you review an auto imune disease that changes your entire life for the worse?
Well, i first developed diabetes roughly 13 years ago when i was at school age 10. Apparantly it's onset was triggered by a sudden shock or trauma, in my case being squashed by a landrover!
The symptoms of diabetes developed slowly over the course of several weeks after that up to my eventual diagnosis a month after being run over.
The symptoms were lack of energy, loss of apatite, severe dehydration and thirst, vomiting and urination about 100 times a day. These are all the symptoms of high blood sugar.
As a result of the Pancreas not producing insulin, cells in your body can not take up the sugar in your blood, which increases the concentration. this causes the unpleasent symptoms and is harmful in the long term if the high concentrations of sugar persist.
The treatment is the injection of various types of insulin a number of times a day, regulation of diet and regular exercise.
It is rather hard to say anything positive about diabetes, because there is nothing positive. in short, it sucks.

Summary: an auto immune condition that screws up your life, but its not the end of the world.
