Iridology or, as it is also named, Iridiagnosis, is a very valuable and gentle form of diagnosis, when you think of how uncomfortable some diagnostic techniques are.

This technique was discovered by chance by a man called Dr von Peczely, a Hungarian. As a ten year old boy he caught an owl and, while handling the struggling creature, he broke one of its limbs. He noticed a black spot appear in the birds eye and from the moment this and noticed, as it healed, while in
splint, that a white film appeared in eye around this spot. This was a discoloration.

Practitioners that use iridology know that a black spot that lightens is either an injury or some kind of inflammatory process. If it doesnt lighten then it is a degenerative process. As the black or grey spot heals it develops a white ring round the area.

Poisons also show up in the eye like mercury and arsenic (iodine shows up as a reddish brown colour) and so on. If you suffer from glandular problems, the outer rim of the iris has little white rings that show the inflamatory process going on. I can just picture the DOOYOO Team examining each others eyes to check this out. :-)

I know this must sound strange to some people but I must admit that when two practitioners looked at my irides it felt strange to me. However, it is definitely accurate in showing problems and what part of the body is affected.

The Chinese look at the white of the eye to determine what remedies are needed.
To simplify this exact Science, it was found by this man and others that the eye corresponded to each organ and limbs of the body (even the skin!). The top of the iris shows the brain area, shaped like a wheel) with different segments relating to face nose, mouth, throat, lung, bones (working from the top of the pupil), lungs being in 3 o'clock position etc, the stomach and abdomen relating to the middle of the iris, the outer rim, relating to the skin. Any darkening on the rim of iris sh
ows that a throwing out of toxins is happening in this area.

Books and textbooks show mirror image charts of the parts relating to the body.
Different colours showing as spots or rings help us to know the problem. There are a few text books on this subject. I will add to this opinion soon. I have been helped by this and helped some of my friends. A homeopath introduced me to this therapy. I have studied it for a few years but need to study it more thoroughly. There are not enough pratitioners in this field.

One little text book on the subject is called 'Iridiagnosis Diagnosis from the Eyes', by Victor Davidson ND,DO. A practitioner will take a photograph of your eyes and then study
this at length.
