Advantages: Makes my body soft and smooth
Disadvantages: Doesn't smell of Coconut, Overpriced
Everytime I log onto Dooyoo, I see people writing ops about the fabulous Lush. A few weeks ago, I gave in and ordered some on my overspent credit card. Within days I had the little parcel on my doorstep. Well actually the stupid postman had left it attatched to my door handle with an elastic band, so when I opened the door, the parcel fell off. Good job nothing smashed. My first Lush item I tried was the Bath Ballistic, then I proceeded onto the Creamed Coconut and Almond Smoothie Shower Soap. I was hoping for the most wonderful smell seeing as though I love Coconut. *Description* This comes in a large white plastic tub which contains 250g of very pale Brownish/Beige cream. Once I unscrewed the lid, I was ready to sniff the tropical delights of Coconut. How disappointed I was, not a hint of Coconut was in reach of my nostrils. I,m not sure what I could smell, I don't think it even smelt of Almonds either. Now don't get me wrong, it still was rather pleasant. But if I buy a product which contains Coconut, I do wish to smell it. That was the purpose of me buying it in the first place. *Consistency* It's more like a Mousse, which also feels slightly greasy to the touch. I felt as though it would never disappear at first. All you do is grab a handful and it 's ready to use. Apply it to the body and wash off with warm water. Doesn't feel at all like a normal shower cream, it's just like it says on the bottle, shower soap. *ingredients* Coconut, apparently, Sweet Almond Oil, Ylang Ylang, Vanilla,Labdanum, Glycerine,Palm Kernel Soap, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Jasmine Absolute, Perfume, Sodium Chloride, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Tetrasodium EDTA. I'm not sure what Ylang Ylang smells like, either, but the best I can describe the overall smell is, Vanilla Flavoured Custard. None of these irritated my sensitive skin. *The Outcome* My skin did
feel super soft afterwards, apparently the Almond and Coconut Oils do that for me. They are meant to be moisturising agents. As for feeling sensual off the Jasmine and Ylang Ylang, I was ready for anybody, (not). Seriously I didn't feel in the mood afterwards. I just felt like eating Spotted Dick to add to this custard!!!!!. I probably wouldn't buy it again, Iam slightly disappointed with this Lush stuff. I find it quite expensive £4.95, and will use just a normal shower gel with a good moisturiser afterwards. I can always add my own dessicated Coconut to a bit of Body cream.

- 19/09/02 I haven't got around to trying Lush either. It will be a while before I can wean myself off liquid soaps and gels. |
