Advantages: looks like coconut ice

Disadvantages: does not smell great, just not good enough

I am going to write a Lush review and it is not going to be a big glowing full of praise review. Yes shock horror I have found a Lush product that did not live up to my expectations. This product is one of Lush?s legends the exfoliating bar of soap loaded with coconut that is I Should Coco.

For all those Supergrass fans it quite is fitting that I tried I Should Coco as the last one I tried and reviewed was Red Rooster. (For non Supergrass fans their first album was also called I Should Coco which had a song called Man Sized Rooster on it) I Should Coco was on my list of Lush products to buy . (For those of you who do not know Lush is a shop that sells creative and animal friendly toiletries and cosmetics) I wanted to try I Should Coco because of the coconut in it. I adore the smell of bounty and anything coconut. It reminds me of exotic holiday locations with white sands and blue seas that I am never going to get to , well not in the next five years. My student debt has put paid to that. Anyway I Should Coco was on my list of lovely Lush products to try. I was not going to go into Lush till after the New Year and I have not. My sister went to Lush and bought some of this stuff. She also kindly sliced me off a block of hers so I could try it. So cheers for the soap Fi.

The soap is a very girly one. It is white with bright pink ends. These ends contain flakes of desiccated coconut. My sister said that she had bought coconut ice soap and that is the ideal way to describe it. It does resemble coconut ice so be careful you do not want sensory challenged older relatives or kids trying to eat it. It may look good enough to eat but Lush have not yet come up with edible toiletries!! The only problem is that after use the pink from the end bits runs and tinges the white part with a very pale pink.

The appearance of the soap really promises a lot but the soap can not reach my incredibly high expectorations,.

The first thing that is a disa
ppointment is the smell. It is not full on coconut. I would say I could smell more the soapy smell and even a hint of Lush?s bath bombs. This was not good. It was supposed to have orange oil and creamed coconut in it I could not tell from the smell at all

The soap in use.

Again I was disappointed as it did not lather up well on Willy (the whale wash mitt). It just left a thin layer of suds. Perhaps this is because it is an exfoliating soap. The smell was no coconuttier when wet. Gone were my visions of smelling like I had just come off that exotic beach I was dreaming about. The bits of coconut both on the edge and embedded in the soap were also a disappointment. I did not feel they really exfoliated. They just sort of floated around the bath. If you want a good soap from Lush for exfoliating go and get Sandstone. It works much better. I really did not notice any effect at all. The creamed coconut is supposed to smooth condition and moisturise but again I did not feel the effect at all.

Lush soaps are usually long lasting. I do not mind if this is long lasting or not as I did not pay for this and do not particularly care for this soap at all. I am not sure of the price but it is around £2 for 100 grams.

Well I am dissing a Lush product. What will happen now? Will I go mad and review some computer software and pass up the chance to go to a museum!! You never know. I am really hoping the next soap on my Lush list which I think is Milky bar will get a more glowing review than this. I Should Coco is all fur coat and no knickers as it looks attractive but is pretty ordinary and did not live up to my high expectations of what a Lush soap should deliver.

dotty i could not find the category for this

Got to say I'm with you on this one - not the best product in the Lush range!
