Advantages: Smoothes and cleans your skin.

Disadvantages: A bit dear.

The researchers at Lush have been very busy developing a whole range of fresh products that are stored in ice at the shops and kept in your fridge at home.

I suppose one of the things that the Lush shops have been very successful at is making men aware that pampering yourself and looking after yourself is not just for the ladies.

I had never used anything like a face mask before but the hype about the new fresh products tempted me to give it a try. We decided to try the BB Seaweed face mask as it smelt rather good and I have always thought that there is a lot of natural goodness in seaweed.

The first fact that you notice is that this product is not cheap. At £6.15 for 100g it does mean that you are spoiling yourself a bit. Lush use no artificial preservatives in their products, so it is only the natural preservatives in the products that determine how long the fresh products will keep for. This is usually up to three weeks for all of the fresh products. I would suggest that you share a tub of the seaweed face mask with your partner or a friend as one person would probably not use a whole tub in the three weeks.

The face mask contains millet flakes and ground almonds to act as an exfoliate, which you gently massage into your face. The paste is left on for about 10 – 15 minutes during which time the Seaweed, Limeflower and Violet leaves work on your skin to soothe, cleanse and revitalise your face.

The mask is washed off with warm water and I found it very refreshing to massage the face as I washed it off. I also found that if I used the mask before having a shave I seemed to get a much closer shave afterwards.

Apparently the seaweed is shipped from the Orkneys once a week and the whole product was originally invented for the BBC1 show “Girls on Top”. I saw this programme and it gave a great insight into the whole of the Lush product range and it encouraged me even more to buy more of their produ
cts.

I do like this face mask, but the price is a bit prohibitive and three weeks is not really very long to keep the product. However, when I find that I have a few pennies to spare then this is something I do like to buy.

The mask is suitable for all skin types and is recommended for use once or twice a week for dry skin and 4/5 times a week for oily skins.

O f course this is a great product for men and I suppose it would be good for women as well. If you can afford this then I would recommend this seaweed mask.

KathrynPenguin sent me some Lush products for my birthday & I was impressed. Not sure about the face mask though, sounds a bit expensive.
