Advantages: Gorgeous Food, Nice Range, Quality

Disadvantages: Badly laid out food aisles

Marks and Spencer's is one of the first shops I can ever remember, some Saturdays me and my mum would go and have a look around, she would normally purchase some clothes and I always looked forward to getting the sweets.

I only tend to go to Marks and Spencer's for the food now as the clothes are not really to my liking I feel they are aimed at the more mature lady. They do sell children's clothes and some of those are quite nice but there are still nicer and cheaper places to shop for clothes.

The Marks and Spencer's I have always shopped in have been pretty small, but there are some massive ones on floors and floors such as the one in Manchester City Centre. I must admit I have only been into the food hall bit of this store.

Now on to the food my favourite part of this shop, they have the most gorgeous food and its high quality and tastes amazing. I love the chocolate mousses, the biscuits, the cakes. Ok I have a bit of a sweet tooth! But also the meat is really nice. It just seems that little bit special and I feel this is reflected in the price as you tend to spend like double the amount then you would do in Tesco's and Asda.

We have bought lots of different foods from Marks and Spencer and I really love the ready meals, they have as gastro pub range which is gorgeous, Sausage and mash like you have never tasted. I am really impressed with the range of food they offer too. Although I don't get my veggies or fruit from marks and Spencer's as I tend to like to get those from my greengrocer.

The only downside I find with this store is the layout, especially when shopping for food, they have really small aisles. I feel its pretty much impossible to shop in there with a pushchair, there are a lot of elderly people who like to shop there too and placing great big bottles of wine in the middle of the aisle is just a nightmare, I feel uncomfortable while shopping in there because I never know where to place myself with the pram. Wherever I stand im in the way. I can never look at anything either so now my husband just tends to go in by himself and I wait with the children as its just such a nightmare.

Also take your own carrier bags as they charge 6p now for a plastic bag, and how they are lovely plastic bags I don't want to have to pay for one just because they feel they can get away with it. I bought a reusuable bag for £2.50 and it's a really nice design so there is the option of that.

Recently I purchased my wedding cake from Marks and Spencer, I ordered it online and picked it up from store, had no problems at all and it was gorgeous! Really nice for the price, we paid about £60 so pounds for all 3 tiers and it was sponge! Really recommend them for cakes; I plan to buy my son's birthday cake on there next year you can take a look at www.marksandspencer.co.uk

They have a huge range of items available online and you can order certain foods and get them delivered to your store.

Overall I would recommend Marks and Spencer. The clothes look quality although a tad expensive, the food is gorgeous but the downside is the annoying layout of the food aisles.

Thumbs Up!

Summary: I only go there for food...its yummy!
