Advantages: Cheap, reliable basics

Disadvantages: Not always up with the trends

M&S, not the make-up capital of the High Street, well think again!! I have been using M&S makeup for years now and it is great, just not well known.Gradually M&S have built up their make up ranges and now they have a wide collection of all kinds. Foundations, eyeshadows, mascaras, lipsticks and lip pencils, nail varnishes as well as all the little accesories that you may ever need. A favorite of mine are the lip liners that are double ended and one end has the pencil and the other a lip brush, they are also a lot longer than most lip pencils and I had mine for nearly 2 years before it needed replacing.

There are many shades in all product ranges, my one criticsm being that they tend to keep the more traditional colours and don't always remain up with the times, but I guess that is a common flaw with M&S in general. Thing is for those reliable items you buy over and over like foundation this place if great.

The packaging has recently been revamped and has changed to a clear plastic and silver theme which is actually very funky looking. They have very nice makeup containers and boxes like make-up artists have which forma great place to stash it all. The make up boxes, also have built in brushes and compartments to make life even easier.

The prices are all very competitive and although they do not have the name, M&S are famous for sourcing their products from good names so I am sure that wherever they get their products from is very reputable.

As well as great makeup, they also have good skin care ranges. M & S isn't that bad really!
