Crowned Review Meditation: I do it four nights a week in my slippers. (3075 words)
by - written on 15/11/01 (Very useful, 403 readings)
Rating:

INTRODUCTION ************* I practise it four nights a week in my slippers, it helps to keep them fluffy. I find it of enormous benefit in my life. Meditation is a quiet mental activity that is actually a lot less difficult than many people realise. The mind holds the key to many things, some think that by using meditation on a regular basis it brings us a better understanding our inner selves and enriching our daily lives as a result. Meditation acts as a key to unlocking the hidden potentials that we all possess. Mind chatter. We all have it don’t we, that incessant voice in the back of our minds. What does ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Meditation - The Art of Stillness (1834 words)
by - written on 11/02/01 (Very useful, 399 readings)
Rating:

Sadly the concept of learning to meditate is often still linked with turning into some strange incense-burning hippy weirdo who has completely lost touch with reality. Um?well?I have got the incense and the long flowing hair and skirts and the word hippy has been bandied in my direction on more than one occasion. As for reality?huh? That said - meditation is something that benefits everyone from said hippy person to high-flying suit-wearing city slicker. You will feel more rested and able to cope with stress. The practice of letting thoughts go can help combat potential depression and anxiety. General awareness and concentration levels are improved and the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Meditation: Time out (1346 words)

Meditation Do you ever get that feeling when everything is becoming too much for you and you want to shout “ Stop the world I want to get off.” ? Well, at times like these meditation is a useful ally to calm, relax, focus and still the mind from the everyday hectic stresses we all have to face at sometime or other. I first started to meditate when I was a teenager, at this age you tend to spend a lot of time in your bedroom chilling out listening to music and you have the time to take up meditation if you choose. When you get older or have children, time seems to be snatched from under your feet and you go on auto-pilot through the day, getting the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Meditate in my direction!! (1678 words)
by - written on 04/03/02 (Very useful, 111 readings)
Rating:

I suppose my bedroom in not all that conducive to meditation décor wise, or is it? I suppose that rather depends on what you would class a relaxing décor to be like? Some might favour white and light, not me! My bedroom walls are painted in very deep terracotta with a jade red and cream border half way up the walls. As the bedrooms are set half into the roof all the ceilings up here (I write in my spare room!) are wooden slatted and sloped, very cosy! The only furniture I have in my bedroom is two chests of drawers and the hugest bed you ever did see! Not for any lame reason is mine called a ‘bed’room! It truly takes up well over ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Meditation: What Is The Sound Of One Hand Clapping ? (1375 words)
by - written on 01/09/01 (Very useful, 240 readings)
Rating:

Oooommmmmmmm or do you prefer ommmmmm or even aoommm? I'm not sure myself but I know when I utter these sounds in the inner sanctum of my bedroom it gets right up my BoyFriend's nose. But what goes on behind closed doors is OK - right? Anyway, he should keep his nose out of my private happenings. Most days after my Yoga I meditate. I sometimes meditate during the day as well but always in private. So when BF hears me recite a mantra I know he's either got his ear or eye to the keyhole. I don't really mind as I'm happy deep within my little world. Meditation is something very simple and yet often it is shrouded in mystery. ...  Read the complete review
