P.M.S..Pre. Menstural. Tension. and period pains.
This is something us women have to deal with, It totally take,s over our bodies.
A bit like an alien possesion, once a month.

I blame Eve, if she hadn,t eaten that damn apple, things may have been different.

I suffer really badly with P.M.S. even the dog hides from me at times like this.
I have always had a bad time of it ,all the usual symptoms, bloated stomach, pains, backache,
need I go on?

I must have tried nearly everything to stop it happening, but still ended up nearly killing everyone in sight.
Argueing over the slightest thing, crying for nothing, sometimes you think your going mad.

I have found that if I mark it down on the calander when its near, then I can start to combat the symptoms and so far I have been having a better time of it.

I am a great believer in alternative medicine, as you never know what the doctor will prescribe, or what the side effects of long term use of medicines are.

These are a few of my tips, which I use to help me get through P.M.S. and ease the pain.

Yoga
This is breathing and stretching exercises, which help to relax and calm you, it is a lot slower than a fast ,sweaty workout, so leaves you more relaxed. You can buy books on yoga at all bookshops.

Aromatherapy
I think we have all heard of essential oils, as today these are very popular and can be bought at the health shop, chemist or supermarket.
Radox do a good range for around 2 pounds a bottle.
Two drops of essential oils in a hot bath works wonders, or you can buy a base oil and mix them to use for a massage.
The best ones are ,
Camomile for those of you who get hot flushes,
Lavender for period pains,
Geranium and Rose for P.M.S.
It's also relaxing to ease the pain away in a nice warm bath, I usually play a soothing music C.D too this helps me to unwind.

Herbal Remedies
You can buy h
erbs from the health shop, its usually better to find one that is a bit hippy-ish, as Holland and Barrett will only sell certain things.
You can buy herbs by the ounce at certain shops, these are around a couple of quid, cheaper depending on what you buy.
I would suggest buying a book about herbs if you are going to make your own herbal tea,s ,as some herbs are for external use only.
You can also buy herbal tea,s or tea bags at the supermarket.
The best one,s for P.M.S are Camomile, Orange and Peppermint.

Homoeopathy
This I Have found to be my life saver,
I have tried Evening Primrose oil, Vitamin B5, Star oil,and other medicines, but the one I Take is,
Sepia,
It is the ink of the Cuttlefish and is great for P.M.S and any other Menstral problems.
It combats, hot flushes, symtoms of P.M.S and Post natal depression.
It is helpful with fatigue and exaustion, muscular pains and aches.
You can buy this from any health shop and come,s in tablet form.
It is about 4 pounds for a tub of 30 and you can take it a few days before a period, or when you feel like P.M.S. is creeping up on you, I take it 3 times a day and find that it really does work.

If you do take pain killers like aspirin, nurofen or paracetamol, make sure you keep them out of reach of children.
A couple of pain killers and a hot water bottle on your tummy has also been recomended to me by friends.
Rest is the key in all this too, so if you do suffer with bad pains, get plenty of rest and a balanced diet. Cutting down on coffee helps too.
I hope this opinion has been of some help to you and your partner, if you have one, because they have a hard time of it too.
