Roaccutane is a life saver (My Experience of Acne)

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Everything
I had acne for about 3 years and it was fairly severe and was therefore put on the controversial Roaccutane after finally getting seen by my local dermatologist (Yes thanks to the NHS I was made to wait for months before I could even get seen by one, allowing my skin to probably get 5 times as bad and leaving large scars, my biggest regret.) However the course did help, although I did suffer from mood swings which I was hardly aware of and other side effects. These included very dry skin on my face and in particular my lips were constantly cracked and often bled if I did not use lots of Vaseline, particularly over night. Fortunately I was given a tub of almost industrial quality moisturiser with the course and piling this glob on my face every night before I went to bed really did help. Furthermore I was somewhat hampered in my sporting life as anyone using Roaccutane is prone to aches and pains and this was not good for the rugby I participated in. Summary: get it sorted quick! |
