For me, acne has been the worst thing that's ever happened to me. It started in primary school; way to young for someone to cope with it. Part of a class full of angelic, clear skinned and unaware little children, me (and my face) stuck out like a sore thumb. I must admit though, even though I've had them since Year 6, at the time, their ...

I've been having problems with Acne for around 2 years now. I'd been bullied at school and i had just given up and ask my mum to take me to the doctors. at this point i had a mid- extreme case of acne. The doctor (who also works in the dermatology department at the local hospital) recommended many different antibotics and cremes, eventually i ...

i've been an acne sufferer since i was 12+ and like every other teenager who has acne, i was very self-conscious and i was looking down at the floor most of the time in school to avoid my clear-face friends from staring at me. my acne was very bad; i had a pizza face. and i've cried a lot over my appearance and i pestered my parents to take me to ...

Acne is probably the worst thing thats happened to me in a long time. I've been soo self concious about it, that ive gone as far as to not leave the house most of the summer and skip all chances to be with friends, including birthday parties. Medicaton can help, but if you have to face people in the early stages of using it, it can be horrible(it ...

roaccutane, after trying every antibiotics/creams even blue light treatment-all funded by myself.Yes the side effects are terrible, and i would cry for no reason and have irrational thoughts however when i finished the treatment 4months later ialso finished crying!I have been spot free for 4 years, and it has changed my life.I am now on a further course for 2 months as i seem to be getting a few spots around my jawline and the oiliness has returned, iam definately more emotianal and have been getting bad headaches, and i am snapping at my lovely boyfriend, if i weigh up how awfull the side affects are to how acne makes me feel give me the side effects any day.its a small price to pay!

I have suffered with bad skin for years and have finally been labeled with acne in my late 20's. I have been prescribed numerous things by the doctors, dianette, oxytetracycline, dialycin and many other hard to spell miracle cures. Finally after over 18 months of the worst skin I've ever experienced I've been given Roaccutane...what led to ...

Hi, I have had acne since I was about 12 (I am 22 now) and had always hated it, back in my early teens I had tried various creams and a few anti-biotics (I forget the names) which hadn't ever had a significant effect. I then started to take Doxycycline when I was 19 which cleared up my skin very well and had no real side effects apart ...

Being 16, Im still in the midst of my acne years. Like almost every other teenager, I hate acne and get hugely destressed when I have a breakout of any kind. For the past 4 years or so I have had spots appearing all over my face, neck, back and chest. I wouldn't say that I have really bad acne or anything, but still bad enough for me ...

Ok, well i'm going to put an entry in this long forgotten category. It's a subject that's close to my heart and if i can help one other person by telling them my experience then this will have been worthwhile. I'll start from the start. When i was a teenager i had the most beautiful soft smooth skin. While my friends were ...

Well where do I start? I surpose this is a really hard subjet for me, and I'm sure any other person who has had acne or still suffers from it would feel the same. It takes over your life. Well I found it did any way.Let me begin so you can understand. It all started at the age of about 14, I started to get afew spots here and there ...

Acne, depressing and embarrassing yes, but try being a teenager at the same time! DISASTER. I am writing this op with my good friend Sarah: We are both 14 and suffering from acne, admittedly it is not as bad as it could be, but it is bad enough to bring us down and lower our confidence (which could be a good thing because we were already ...

This is a subject which I am somewhat familiar with. I have never been a sufferer of Acne as such, but over the past two years I have been prone to spots. All through my teenage years I had lovely clear skin, with not a blemish or blackhead or white head or bluehead or whatever to be seen. I revelled in the knowledge that while everyone else was ...

I'm only going to keep the moaning to a bare minimum, as i don't want to burden you all with it, that's what my lovely music teacher's for! (bless 'er)! So, acne, how was it for me? Aaargh. This is something I find really hard to talk about. You know when people say that all teenagers get spots? Well it isn't true. At least from where I am standing and look around and see crowds of unblemished skin. Or one of my friends will complain "oh I've got a spot", when all they have is one minute red pimple on an ...

Unfortunately, I would call myself somewhat of an expert on acne. I used to hate that word. ACNE. As a teenager I found it a lot easier to say 'spots' or 'bad skin'. I hated the bits in cartoons when they showed a box with the similar word 'Acme' (some US manufacturer's name, I think) on it, and I would ...

Look around you when you're next on a bus or train. What do you see? Chances are you'll see a couple of people with acne spots. They might be teenagers but they could even be people in their forties and fifties. In fact more people than ever are seeking acne treatment well beyond adolescence. When I was fourteen I started to get ...
