IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).

I am writing this in the hope that it will help anyone else who has the problem.

You are not alone!!

I have been a sufferer for approx. 10 years that I know of.

I have had ultra-sound which diagnosed a duplex kidney but that had nothing to do with the symptoms I had.

I had cyscopy, not a nice procedure for a fella, which proved I hadn't bladder cancer. I also had x-rays. In the end the doctor said IBS and there's nothing that he can do about it.

I have noticed that when on holiday in Spain or Turkey the condition disappears. The only changes are my diet which included far more vegetables and no processed foods. You could say that I have less stress on holiday, but the condition doesn’t coincide with stress levels.

The pain reduces when I lie down or participating in activity. I have bouts lasting 8 to 10 weeks and they come on without warning.

The only advice I can give is keep a record of food consumption even the brand name and the times you have the bouts. From this information it may be possible to single out the foods that cause the IBS then change your diet.

Remember some painkillers can cause constipation and make matters worse.

Medication: Try Lactulose.
