Advantages: Bigger boobs.

Disadvantages: Weight, skin, hair, mood swings and to many little things to mention., no cloths, low sex drive /bad mood swings

This all started about 2 and a half years ago in September I noticed that I was starting to put weight on be didn’t think that much of it as I’d always been able to eat what I wanted and get away with it. It wasn’t until Christmas that I realised how much weight I had put on I’d gone for an size 8/10 to a 14 to be honest it shocked me and I started to try and diet but it ended up as a bit of a yo yo diet which my dad put a stop to.

But buy the end of April a was going on a size 16 but at the time a was very unhappy in the relationship I was in and was stuffing my face so I put of down to that.

It wasn’t until the following October that I stared to get very bad pains in my lower bowel and over the last 3 months I had started to get stretch makes the way pregnant people do so I went to the doctors thinking I was pregnant. I sat down and started to explain to my family doctor what was wrong half way through a nurse came in and spoke to the doctor. After she left I tried to carry on telling him what was wrong but he told me that it was a track infection and gave me some tablets.

I took the full course which was a week long but I still had the pain so buy November I went back but couldn’t get in to see my family doctor so I went to see another one. He seamed nice and didn’t fill me full of drugs he did so test and said apart for my blood being a bit low I was fine. He then asked if he could run some more blood tests that I agreed to. The following week I went back and he said the thought my thyroid was a bit low and would send me to the hospital to get checked.

Then 3 months later I got an appointment for the hospital I went to see them and the first thing the doctor said oh who did your face they made a mess. I have a birthmark on the left hand side of my face it was operated on about 11 years ago and looks pretty well I think. But not to him then we had a chat and he examined me and told me

there was nothing wrong with me and was only 10 pound over weight for my height and that he send me to a diets ion but he didn’t think it was worth it but he did do another lot of blood tests but he upset me that much I didn’t go back to get them.

It then took me 9 months to get my act together enough to go back to the doctors they did some more tests and sent me back to the hospital to see a different doctor and they told me how I had an under active thyroid but it was only mildly undractive. We then spent a couple of weeks going to the doctors and on the end we went private as the doctor told us we it might take between 3/6 months to get seen on the nhs.

After going private for a couple of months the doctor swooped me on to the nhs there has been a long struggle to get my tablets sorted out but it now going well I feel. I last went to the hospital on the 23/04/01 and they have put the tablets up to a 100ml of thyroxine and they’re going to check on me in 8 weeks so fingers crossed.


At the minute I weigh 15 stone give or take a few pounds hopefully I will be able to lose some in that time or they want me to come of the marvelon pill which they think is stopping my tablets for working. This is funny as when I went to the family planning clinic they told me there was no need to so it’s now just a matter of time I guess.

Some more good news the 100ml tablets are working very well I have lost 8pounds and the family planning have said my pill will not stop the Thyroxine from working. I'm going to see my doctor at the hospital on monday the 06-08-01 just hope it goes well if not i might change doctors.
Some more good news my doctor was very happy with me he says that when I go back in four month's time if things are the same then they will discharge me so I only have to get my bloods done very six months.

Well I did a very silly thing I listen to the doctors and changed my pill and
after only 3 months I have put on 10/12 pounds so I'm now going to go back to the doctors to change everything back I just hope it doesn't take to long to get back on top of it.

It's now 9/09/02 and I was discharged from the hospital in april it's going ok very hard work I somtimes let it get to me I bit but I have a big strong man to help me and love me and my mum and dad so I'll keep going it's starting to work I just have can't see it everyday.

All I can say is if you think you have this get checked out quickly the more weight you put on the harder it is to lose but the more it goes the other way to the more weight you lose the easier it becomes , good luck don't give in
