Advantages: Can't think of ayn advantages for migraine

Disadvantages: Nausea, vomiting, intense pain

I've suffered from Focal migraines since I was eight years of age which meant lots of time off school as nothing could control them. We ended up taking the caffiene free route so avoiding chocolate, cheese and many other foods which is really hard for a child and didn't really help.

Focal migraines usually cause severe pain in one spot. The most important thing to note is that you should see your doctor if you are taking the combined pill for advice.

Now I'm in my thirties and although the migraines have eased I still have regular hormonal ones related to the increase and decrease of progesterone during the cycle. For some reason Boost glucose choclate bars work really well for these (!!!!) and I end up eating like a horse. Soluble Paracetamol don't work and I am unable to take aspiring due to allergy. MY migraines are made worse as I am often ill with Crohn's disease and end up skipping meals.

What works on a normal migraine? In my case migraleve make me really ill so I stick to soluble paracetamol which work really well. I guess this makes sense becaus migraines slow down the digestive tract so tablets would be harder to absorb. I've also tried avoiding food types but as I also have crohns really healtyh foods make me sick with that instead.

IN the last few months I have started taking fewer few tablets every day and this has definately reduced the number and intensity of my head aches. I buy 90 tablets for about £6.99 from my local health food shop and this lasts around three months. I did try the actual plant in feverfew sandwichs but it takes vile and triggered my eczema.....

I've also tried beta blockers which cause an erratic heart beat and anxiety, mild antidepressants which made them worse and the next stop is the migraine clinic.

Summary: Discuss your options with a doctor and ask about herbal remedies

I actually have a slight pain in my head as soon as I wake up which goes really quickly which warns me that later in the day a migraine will be coming on. Lots of sufferers get different types of warning signs such as light pains, dizzyness, hunger etc so it maybe migraine. There is a migraine society in the internet.
