My Experience of PMSNewest Review: ... also differed between each of my cycles. I was told by my doctor, 'if your symptoms happen regularly in the same phase of your menstrual cycle, get much better in the rest of the cycle and are bad enough to disrupt your life, you have PMS.' So I had PMS, and I dealt with all my symptoms, year in, year out. The cravings for chocolate and stodgy food, the bloating (water retention), ... more |

My experience of PMS has been a long and tedious one. I seemed to get narky as soon as I started my periods at 15, yes I was a late starter but then I am talking 13 years ago. I would not have said this was PMS but it was the start. I used to get irritable, water retention and period pains (cramps) for a few days before my periods, which when you are young and going through puberty can seen like the end of the world! I am sure my parents would have told you I was more of a pain in the neck than normal when nearing my monthlies. Lucky for them I moved out at sixteen and a half and my first boyfriend had to put up with it instead. Lol. My ... Read the complete review

Pre-menstrual tension (or pre-menstrual syndrome) is something that just about every woman will experience in her lifetime to some degree. We girls can all relate, our hormones rage a riot in our bodies and we turn into mad shrieking banshee type women, wielding weapons and causing havoc and misery with everything we say and do……. well, according to most males anyway! But as Ian (Excelle) is joining me in this opinion, I shall allow him to add his experiences as a ‘victim’ and express the male point of view! But as I’m currently in the throes of mad axe wielding maniacal tendencies myself (PMS!), he can wait his sodding turn! I’m ... Read the complete review

I've read so many heart rending opinions on Dooyoo where I have really admired the writer, thinking I could NEVER open up like that, opinions about depression, anxiety, illness and so many subjects about which it must have been really difficult for the writer to sit down and put it all into words and thought I could never do that, I'm not brave enough, what if someone mocks me or disagrees with me, I couldn't take it I'd be mortified, what if I don't end up saying what I wanted and can't get my feelings across. But I thought that while I was suffering from PMS, and now, at this very moment in time I'm not pre-menstrual and I know I ... Read the complete review

THAT time of the month? For me it means gutwrenching pain. Lower back, abdominal aches as well as headaches. Coupled with bad mood swings means most people don’t tangle with me when I’m suffering from Pre Menstrual Syndrome. I do feel sorry for the bemused friends and flatmates who wonder what they’ve done to get a shrill ‘WHAT are YOU looking at?’, ‘Oh are you STILL here?’ or worse a blank stare. I apologise to anyone that has been unfortunate enough to have been shouted at or ignored by me. I can’t drive well when I’m suffering from PMS as I find it hard to concentrate. I avoid driving as I worry that I may ... Read the complete review

Many women suffer from Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (1 in 3 women) but for some (approximately 1 in 20 women) it can be severe. Symptoms of PMS can be emotional and physical and include: - tender breasts - bloating - weight gain - mood swings - irritability - depression (in some cases suicidal feelings) - headaches - abdominal pains/cramps - nausea - backache - acne - constipation - cravings for sugary foods (especially chocolate) - can trigger (but not cause!) conditions such as asthma and epilepsy - and a change in sex drive. PMS can turn an intelligent, reasonable woman into a fiery dragon from hell! ... Read the complete review
