Periods! Periods! Periods! Ok, that got rid of all the men, now, let's talk frank about PCOS: Tiredness, weight gain, excess body hair, pimples, horrid periods, cramps and infertility are just a few wonderful bonuses of PCOS. PCOS stands for Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, which in its self doesn't tell you much, which incidentally, neither did the Doctor that diagnosed me (Told me much that is!). The "ins" and "outs" of Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (here on out called PCOS) is a bit difficult to diagnose, as the effects can mimic a variety of other diseases, such as iron deficiency (Always tired), diabetes ... In 1997, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and I had no idea what it was, or it's effect on my life and health. I was diagnosed after 2 years of trying to conceive, and because my GP had never mentioned PCOS, I did not notice the signs. My aim with this opinion is that someone will notice the signs and take action. When you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, endocrine abnormalities lead to a number of symptoms. Endocrine is a hormone. The symptoms can include irregular periods, infertility, increased, unexplained weight gain, acne, and excessive hair growth. The ovaries also become enlarged, due to one of more cysts filled with fluid appearing ... Read the complete review

I doubt that this will be of any real interest to most who read it but it is something which I feel I need to write to get things off of my chest in a relatively constructive way and well who knows if someone gets a diagnosis after reading it then it will have been a good thing. For any guys reading you may not want to carry on as the is about ladies parts and us girls know how squeamish you can get about that kind of thing! I was a reasonably normal teenager or so I thought. I was a little larger than most others, a size 14 nothing too bad about that is there, not that I thought that way at 14! My periods started when I was thirteen and I hated it so much! ... Read the complete review

Polycystic ovarian syndrome has completely changed my life... As a teenager I was very slim & had regular periods. Then when I was 18 I started taking the Pill as I had a great fear of unwanted pregnancy. I continued taking the Pill for 10 years & then age 28 & happily married started trying for a family only to find that my periods were very irregular,I was having about 4 a year. So each month that my period did not arrive I got really excited thinking that we had conceived & I would go buy a pregnancy test & each time the result was negative. After 14 months of trying I went to my GP & he prescribed Clomid but before I took the first dose I ... Read the complete review
