Last years after spending a few years checking my moles myself as much as I could, I decided I wanted to have them checked by a skin doctor who knew what they were looking for. Being fair skinned I have always tried to stay out of the sun but being fair I think you can just be more genetically prone to things like skin cancer. The mole I was most worried about was on my back where I couldn't see it so I had to always rely on my mum looking for signs of anything changing with it, It was dark but for as long as I can remember she had said it was dark and I have others that are quite dark, but this one was nearly black. It was the size of a 2p piece, and was one of twenty or more dotted over my back, chest and arms. It wasn’t concerned at all, after all I do not have a fair complexion or sunbathe throughout the day in the summer. A visit to the ... Read the complete review

This experience is not about me, but my partner, and the impact Skin Cancer has had on our lives. (UPDATE X 2 AT BOTTOM) BACKGROUND My partner is very dark skinned and was not considered a traditional candidate for skin cancer, despite having always been a sun worshipper. He has a number of small moles which have been with him, in the main, all his life. On his back, he had a large one, which since all the publicity surrounding skin cancer, had made me very nervous, but he was adamant it was nothing to worry about. THE DIAGNOSIS Towards the end of January, he went to the Doctors for another reason, but she was more concerned with the ... Read the complete review
