Advantages: lasts ages, nice smell, compact

Disadvantages: a little expensive

Having not yet found a really decent deodorant, I saw this almost glue stick (!?) sized Nivea dry “deo-compact” on TV and decided to give it a go. The annoying advert shows a man who has had a woman at his for the night asking her if she needs anything. She says no, I’ve got my own deodorant, Hmm, not at all tacky. Anyway, he then asks her if he will see her again and she replies she’ll be ok for the next 79 nights. Clever huh? Obviously, this little bottle is supposed to last 80 days, sounded good to me (I am so easily drawn in!). You can buy these from larger branches of Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets too I expect. I bought it from Boots for £2.69. I thin this is fairly expensive for such a small deodorant but I suppose the price is for the novelty and convenience!

The tube comes in a simple white and blue box, which has the product information on and the Nivea logo.

Here’s a bit of information from the box to tell you about the product:

·Free from colours and preservatives
·Dermatologically approved

The actual bottle is opaque white with the Blue Nivea logo on. The bottle contains 20ml of deodorant which you dispense using the pump action spray. I like this as it is not an aerosol and isn’t harming the environment. The bottle is 4.25 inches with the lid so it is really handy for putting in your handbag. I would take it out with me on a hot day or an evening when I’m not sure if my normal deodorant is trustworthy!

The bottle advises using the spray 20cm from the skin, and to use three sprays. I find this is enough to freshen up with but I have not yet tested it for the full 24 hours the symbol on the box indicates! It dries very quickly. It doesn’t feel that “wet” when you first spray it on anyway but I think this is really
good because it makes it quick and easy to use if your in the loo’s of a club or pub. I doubt the people waiting for the toilets would appreciate waiting for your deodorant to dry!

The smell of this deodorant is very clean and fresh smelling. A little bit soapy, but very clean and summery. It doesn’t smell harsh or strong at all. It is also not harsh on the skin. A lot of deodorants can make the armpits sting but this one doesn’t. I think this is probably because the product does not contain alcohol.

I would recommend this deodorant for sure, it works well, smells nice, leaves no white marks on clothing-it’s just a shame it isn’t a bit cheaper. I’ll have to see how long the bottle lasts before I decide to buy it again or not!

(Just one last thing, the box says “Convenient handy spray lasts as long as the 150ml aerosol”, can anyone please tell me whether they mean the bottle lasts the same amount of days…. or the deodorant is as effective at lasting on your skin??)
