Advantages: Great smell and clean hair, Small bears will love it
Disadvantages: Small bears and small children might be tempted to taste it
Paddington Bear always taped a marmalade sandwich into his hat before setting out on his travels and adventures, in case of emergency. I'd say that this shampoo would be equally useful on any trip or adventure and highly recommend taping a small bottle into your travel hat next time you set of for darkest Peru or that weekend in the country. I suffer from perfume allergies. The problem is that it takes body warmth to bring out the allergic reaction in me. This means I have to use and wear a product before I can tell if I?m allergic to it. I can?t tell just by opening the bottle and sniffing it in the shop. Original Source offers free samples and that's perfect for me. I get to try out a product and don't waste my money buying things I can't use. This time it was a sachet of Orange and Tea Tree Protecting Shampoo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Shampoo: The instant I cut into the sachet I could smell the orange scent. Not strong or over-powering, just "there" like the scent of fresh fruit piled in a bowl in a warm room. The shampoo is quite thick and a glorious colour, a bright transparent orange gel. It didn't take much to lather up nicely and the smell was lovely. Not a sharp acidic orange and not the equally awful artificial sickly-sweet orange I've met in cheaper bathroom products. This one has a warm orange scent that's gently sweet yet very "real orange". The closest I can come to in comparison scent-wise is my sister-in-law's home made marmalade. Not too sweet, not too tart - just right. Paddington would be in ecstasy - to be able to wash ALL OVER in marmalade scented bubbles? Utter bear bliss! Original Source states that this shampoo contains Vitamin E to strengthen and protect, Tea Tree oil as a natural anti-fungal and anti-bacterial and orange oil as a tonic. With added fruit acids from pineapple, grape and passionflower to main
tain pH, strengthen the cuticle and increase shine. Wow, sounds like a combined health tonic and tropical cocktail in a bottle! (Better not let Paddington read the label, he'd probably drink it.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My verdict: Original Source says this shampoo is "mild enough for frequent use." I wash my hair daily in the shower I can vouch that it does seem mild enough as stated. My hair felt clean and fresh all day. I have greasy hair and it can be tricky finding a shampoo that keeps your hair fresh all day yet doesn't strip it too much. This one seems to keep a decent balance and my hair feels good. I never really noticed any difference in the shine or hair strength, but I've only used it a week. Allergy reactions? None. The mint version had given me the itches, but this one was perfectly fine. All in all I liked it. The scent is decidedly nice and my hair feels good. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The "bear facts": Paddington would be equally pleased to hear that Original Source products are not tested on animals. The company also regularly checks its ingredient suppliers to ensure that no ingredients used have been tested on animals since the company launched in 1997. They state ?We only work with the best suppliers of high quality ingredients and are firmly against animal testing.? They are registered with the Vegan society as well as the Aromatherapy Trade Council. Original Source products can be found at all the main supermarkets, Boots and many others. This shampoo comes in a 300ml plastic bottle and a smaller 250ml version that should tape into travel hats or fit into small travelling cases very nicely.
