Good offers to be had and is worth the money for a change of skincare :)

**Originally posted under my DooYoo account 'Jackstiger' which I can no longer use but the review is still valid :)**

Strolling around Boot's I realised that they had some Original source products on special offer. Not being one to miss out on a bargain I picked up a tea tree and mint face mask. Recentely i'd got an outburst of spots and mum swore by any tea tree product as a quick cure for spots. I'd also wanted to buy something in this range for a long time because my friends are ranting about it but it was just too expensive.

There was a sticker on the cap saying "NEW improved pump action". I've always wondered how something can be new AND improved but never mind.. The pump was being a bit of a pain making funny fart noises but after a few squirts it was coming out great! One thing I instantly noticed was this lovely fresh tingly feeling on my face which was really refreshing. The instructions tell me this will take a bit of time to get used to but i wasn't really bothered and found it quite nice!

As i applied the green splodge on my face it smoothed on really well and I wasn't put off with all the little green bits in my hair :) this is a really strange smell, like a toilet cleaner but wearable! I can smell mint and lemon with a slight tea tree hint in there. I started feeling a bit peckish and was astonished to see there was no "do not eat warning signs" hmm.. i don't even what to think about what some people are having for dinner right now.

After 3 minutes i washed off the mask and instantly felt a difference. It was a bit greasy when i took it off but left my face feeling great. None of those horrible dry patches or greasy spots. 10 minutes later, once my skin had time to adapt i could feel a really big difference. My face felt so soft and my spots had dried out. Blimey mom was right about tea tree oil! I really wasn't expecting this product to be that great because the concentrated tea tree oil was so expensive from the body shop and i didn't expect this mask to have
much in due to the price.

The mask i bought was for normal and combination skin. I have very sensitive skin and took a gamble by ignoring there advice to do a tester patch but was lucky to have no irritations at all. It's no wonder though because there is a little notice at the bottom saying "This product uses natural oils not synthetic fragrances" and that really impressed me. Many people are allergic or find perfumes irritant and you can never really be sure what is in products these days. I was also glad to see this product isn't tested on animals. A great quality that i always feel good about if i know my face mask hasn't caused suffering to an animal.

For a little green 50ml bottle you get a lot out of this. As a prediction i think i will get 10-15 masks out of this bottle which is fabulous. It really feels like i have had a salon treatment and its a great treat that really is good for the skin. Not only that, my boyfriend keeps sniffing me :) I'd really recommend this product to anyone with any skin type. I've found it really effective and kind to my skin.

      keep clean :))

SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING NICE TO DRINK

I have always been a great fan of 'Original Source' products. While I was out doing some shopping in Morrisons I spotted original source 'Bath Tea'. I loved the sound of this and decided to give it a try.

It comes in a clear plastice bottle with a black cap and contains 500mls of pale green liquid. On the front of the bottle in black lettering it says 'white tea and grapefruit restorative'

        . Underneath it says:-

Serving suggestion - to help revive a weary body mix into a warm bath. Lie back and have a break for half an hour.
BEST BEFORE - you reach total burnout.

White tea is known for it's skin protecting properties and grapefruit is known to be a natural tonic. Together they make an interesting combination.

I first used this after a particularly hard day. I poured some into my bath and it immediately started to bubble. It has a very pleasant scent and is not overpowering. After about twenty minutes the bubbles were still there and the bathroom had a lovely relaxed and clean aroma. My skin did not feel at all dry and it did feel very clean and refreshed.I have used this product often and the bottle lasts well.

I paid just 99p for this on the special offer in Morrisonsand have since purchased it on offer in tesco for £1.29. It is also available in Sainsbury, Asda, Superdrug and Boots. I buy wherever it is on special offer. This is an inexpensive treat which works well.

This product is not tested on animals which is important to me.

It is made in the U.K. by pz cussons of Stockport.

Q: Where was the coldest place on earth a few minutes ago? A: My living room Q: What was the coldest living thing on the earth a few minutes ago? A: My body, but it is now slowly defrosting So, now we have established that, I can tell you about my free, icy holiday...if I can that is, as I am so shivery... I think I have just been on holiday to Norway, or somewhere up North, where the temperature is below freezing. I can’t tell you where the coldest place on earth is; I am no good at Geography. I am now in a cosy, warm living room with the fire on max, a mug of hot chocolate and 2 jumpers on trying to de-frost my shivery, icy body. Picture this: You are wearing only a bikini or shorts; you’re floating underwater in minus-freezing temperatures, snow on the land above, icebergs and glaciers floating along the surface. You are feeling very shivery, it feels hard to breathe, and the water feels icy and smells of a strong aroma of mints and herbs. Your whole body is freezing. Are you imagining this? I need to prepare you for what it will feel like if you try it for real. No I don’t mean the above picture for real, I am talking about Original Source Tea Tree, Mint and Herbs Facial Sauna. Don’t worry; I will explain all of the above terms in the latter part of this opinion. Unfortunately for all you cosmetic shoppers with no credit card, Original Source Tea Tree, Mint and Herbs Facial Sauna can’t be found on any supermarket shelf. The only place you will find it is online at the website and you can only buy it with a credit or debit card. Noooooo, I want to cry. I have to make this bottle last as long as I can, as I don’t have a credit or debit card. Ha Ha…. I know what you’re thinking now. How could I buy this without a credit or debit card? Yes I know what you smart ass is thinking in the corner over there…”She
must have got someone else to buy it for her” XXX (Is that “no” on family fortunes?) No, I brought this for and by myself, off ebay!!! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Where would I be without ebay? Cheap, bargains galore! To buy this online it costs £3.50 but I brought it off ebay for £1.50, plus whatever the P&P was. So that was pretty good, don’t you think? I will try and describe this as much as possible for you, since I requested this product and this will be the 1st opinion in this category. This product comes in a light green box, sized approximately 12cm by 4cm. On the box it tells you what the product is and some information about it like what it is supposed to do, who can use it, what ingredients there are and how to use it. Inside the box you will find a dark green coloured bottle, with a dark green liquid inside. I think it looks like a medicine bottle. This comes in size 50ml. This is the only size you can buy it in. Pity, but good things always come in small bottles, haven’t you noticed? To buy this online, it would cost you £3.50. That’s a bit steep, but it works amazingly well, so you can’t complain. On the green bottle you will find info on how to use it and what it is. It has a rubbery lid on the top. When you unscrew the lid, it comes off and you are holding the dropper for which you need to put the liquid in. As with any other Original Source products, it uses natural oils and not synthetic fragrances and it is not tested on animals. I will just tell you a little about this product: This facial sauna is supposed to give your skin a relaxing and detoxifying experience. Luckily, it can be used on all skin types. I have sensitive skin and it worked well for me. I also have a skin condition known as Roseacea-Acne, where my cheeks and nose area are a bit red. I think this is due to the many spot creams, foundations and blushers I used
to use. Luckily I don’t have spots, but there is no cure for this RA, so I thought this product may be a good idea to soothe and calm it down a bit. This product also claims to thoroughly refresh the skin and help cleanse away any impurities. It also contains a high level of essential oils. It offers maximum therapeutic benefit to the skin, calming, balancing, stimulating and detoxifying even the dullest morning after complexion. It sure does! Yes another Original Source product that stays true to its word. With my skin condition, I had thought for many years that there was no hope, but I’ve found something, which could bring hope to many other sufferers too. I would like to share my experience with you all after I’ve just told you about the oils you will find in it, in case you are allergic to any. Tea Tree Oil – A natural antiseptic Peppermint Oil – Cooling and reviving Lavender Oil – Healing and an anti-irritant Coriander Oil – Helps combat the accumulation of toxins and aids poor circulation Rosemary Oil – Regulates Seborrhoea Basil Oil – Helps insomnia, migraine and nervous tension Palmerosa Oil – Moisturises skin, stimulates cellular regeneration and regulates sebum production Clary Sage Oil – Good for skin inflammations and helps oily skin Vetiver Oil – Deeply relaxing and stress relieving I followed the instructions carefully, which were to fill a big bowl with 500ml of hot but not boiling water. Then I had to put 4 droplets of the liquid in to the bowl. For every 500ml water you put in the bowl, you need 4 droplets of the liquid for it to work properly. Next you have to position your face so it’s at least 25cm over the top of the bowl. You have to and this is very important – keep your eyes closed. I opened them once and they stung a bit. Yes, you always get one that doesn’t follow the instructions,
don’t you? Hehe. Loosely cover your head with a towel and stay in that position for a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes. You can use this sauna once a week. I don’t know what would happen if you used it more. It also says for external use on broken skin. I’m not sure what that means though. When I put my head over the bowl, I breathed in the aroma as I had a cold and I thought it might help it a bit. I didn’t like the smell of the concoction below me. It smelt like I was in a minty, herb garden. In the first minute, it took my breath away as the aroma was so strong – if you’ve ever stood next to the sea on a windy day, you will know what I mean. After that, I either got used to it or the smell started to disappear. Probably a little of both. My face felt very hot when I first introduced it to the facial sauna, but after a couple of minutes, my face started to feel tingly and cold. I also felt very relaxed and a little tired. After the 5 minutes was up, I looked in the mirror to see if my RA was inflamed even more and I was impressed with what I saw. My RA didn’t look as red as before and it felt cooler and calmer. WOW that’s a first. I will be using this more often. I felt more awake after using it, as the ingredients made me feel cold, but I also felt like I was floating on a cloud, like I do when I have had a bit too much to drink. Maybe that’s what essential oils do to you. I blame the lavender oil for being so relaxing. I guess you could say I felt a little light-headed. That quickly passed and I soon started to feel quite cold. First it was my face, and then the coldness started to drift slowly down the rest of my body. Within minutes I was cold from the tips of my hair to the end of my toenails. I felt like I did in the 1st paragraph of this opinion. Extremely freezing and I needed to be defrosted, so I plonked myself in front of the computer with the fire on max
and a warm mug of hot chocolate by my side. That was 3 hours ago and I am still sitting here writing this opinion now. Well Ok, I haven’t been on CIAO all day, I have visited ebay to see how my auctions are doing and I have been doing work. Strangely enough I still feel cold. Maybe that’s just my imagination. But then look out the window. It’s drizzling with grey clouds hovering overhead. That’s enough to make you feel cold. I also noticed that about 5 minutes after I tried the facial sauna, my head started to ache at the back. I don’t know if that was due to the sauna, but a quick paracetamol soon fixed it. This product is very easy to use and only takes up 5 minutes of your time every week, so I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Thanks for reading!!!! :)

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Original Source products are based on the remedies of Ellen Wakeman, a pioneering lady who went to Australia, joined the gold rush, became a barber's apprentice and learned about the medicinal properties of the native plants whilst 'shaving whiskers and pulling teeth'!! Original Source Tea Tree & Lemon Foaming Face Wash - containing essential oils of lemon and tea tree - is one of my favourite Original Source products. It's a zingy, refreshing and reviving experience, unlike any other cleanser or face wash I've tried. I have combination skin - an oily t-zone with normal/dry cheeks, and find most cleansers and face washes help one problem while making the other worse. Not so with this product, though. While the tea tree soothes and acts medicinally on oil and spots, the lemon cleans and revives, leaving skin neither dry nor oily, but looking and feeling sparkling clean. I've had no adverse reactions to this product whatsoever, and find that my skin stays clean and looking 'tamer' for longer than with any other cleanser. It comes in a yellow pump-action bottle and pumps out already foamed. This disconcerted me at first, but I soon found that two pumps for bare skin and three pumps for make-up work brilliantly. Simply dampen your skin and then rub the foam all over for a very tingly and lemony sensation. It rinses off again with ease, leaving behind that lovely lemon scent. This version is formulated for combination/oily/problem skin, but there's another for normal and another for dry skin - all have tea tree combined with another essential oil as their active ingredients. I get mine from Boots for around £3.50 for 150ml which lasts for a good 3 months. As lemon is a natural rather than 'feminine' or 'masculine' smell, it's great for males and females, and if it was good enough for all those grimy rough 'n' r
eady gold-diggers in New South Wales who frequented Ellen's barber shop, it's good enough for me!

Freebie sites, there’s loads of them well add this one to your favourites. Original Source actually sell products mainly toiletries but the great thing is that you get to sample them FREE. The different thing about this site is that this is a freebie site unlike the others who mainly list freebie sites and you have to visit them. I really like the layout of the site, it’s got a trendy look and the colour combination of green(s) and orange go really well. It automatically gives you good feel for the website. The site features exclusive competitions, give aways like free samples. And there’s regularly updated articles from aromatherapy to detoxing. Also, constantly changing reviews of all the most interesting web sites on health, nutrition, entertainment, stress, fitness and fun. You have to sign up to become a member. Unfortunately, it’s no quick thing and actually does take quite a long time. Once you have filled you personal details in you have to fill in a rather long questionnaire. All of which are required to match you up with the free samples. Once you have signed up you can get free samples! There are quite a few samples-four at the moment which you can claim for. It takes 10 working days to receive your samples-free postage and packaging. Once you are sent the samples you will be sent four e-mails one for each sample and asked a bit of feedback. Don’t worry it’s all very easy!! They have a good selection of products on site in their shop from shower gels, body moisturisers to shampoos to deodorants and face range products and lots more. Their search facility was really easy to use when I was having a browse. Most of the products are stocked by Boots so if you want to check what they have in stock, it’s a good way to use the site. I do like the section on ‘hints and tips’ where you can post any tips. It makes a good read and you
can pick up some good hints. If you do have a good tip you could get £50 off original source products. Overall this is a very good site to visit, and excellent for free samples. You can order from their shop but I think I will stick to my local boots but still a very good site nevertheless.
